Opened a ticket on Stardock eSupport back in the beginning of September (#IGB-111-75441) for a bug I'd seen happening for a while.  Was initially given support by Brad Ather.  It was determined after a rather lengthy process that there was a bug in either Fences 3.0, or Deskscapes 8 (or both), as they would not work together in a Windows 10 multi-monitor portrait configuration (proven).

I asked when I could expect a resolution, to which Brad replied it was "going to the developers",...

Hello,

First off,  I want to say I am a fan of Fences.  I was wondering, however, what, if anything, is the advantage of using portals inside Fences as opposed to just setting a shortcut.  It seems they do the same thing.  Are there features that portals have over shortcuts??

I bought stardock yesterday. it requested i sign in so i did with the continue with facebook option. had to uninstall it and went back to log in and the codes not there and it says my account is not associated with stardock.

Hi -

I've opened a couple of ticket to address this issue. I renewed my object desktop subscription on 11/17.... I still don't have access to the software - the most worrisome aspect of this situation is the lack of response from anyone at stardock. Here are the ticket numbers:

I have spent the past few days trying to install Fences 3.0.5.11.  I am running Windows 10.

I was having problems with Fences: individual fences on the wrong display screen, unable to create new fences.

I tried downloading what I understood was a new version of Fences, 3.0.5.11, which was supposed to have some recent updates.  My understanding was that I had to repurchase the new version, which I did  for $6.49.

So I upgraded to the new fences. And I liked the idea of having the roll-ups along the edge of my main screen, and just moving the mouse over them when I need to access the apps / date / folders. But when I do this, they unroll underneath the existing windows. What use is that? Is there an 'always on top' setting that I'm missing?

I'm not running any other customising software, just plain Windows 10.

I was cruising around and found this not-so-new item, but one which does not portend well.

Not about net neutrality which looks like it's moribund, no, this one is about Russia having plans for an alternate internet involving China, Brazil, India and South Africa.

This is allegedly to insure everyone involved against NSA hacking. Sometimes you have to laugh from irony, though.

Snowy told me yesterday...

So sorry our friend and Marine HG_Eliminator, aka Dave Walker is no longer here. 

He had vision problems which made him quit skinning and being a Mod. He was a Master Skinner.

 

But more, HG was a great guy, and everyone's friend. I've missed him being around for a long time.

I am running Fences v3.0.5.12 and really LOVE the program but today for the first time some icons have disappeared and will not restore! It is fairly random, some icons in some fences, mainly references to local files and folders. I checked that the files and folders are still there. Some (if not all) missing links are to a drive with an drive letter pointing to a data folder (not a physical drive) - I forgot what you call that on Win 7. The drive letter is assigned on startup. Yesterday I decided to treat myself to the new version of Office. Having used a corporate version of Office 2010 for the last few years I quite fancied my own copy - Office Pro 2016.

To go with this, I did a clean install of Windows 10. I have installed all the other programs I need, and, omitted games I no longer play. Everything is now squeaky clean.

I have not installed any skinning programs - at all. I no longer see what I need them for. Windows is perfectly adequate for the task.

I mean, why would aliens continue to perform anal probes on abductees?

Answer: to test our resolve and endurance to pain.  That's important information for possible future invasions.

Another reason is to test our propensity to fight.  In the case of needing potential allies when under threat by galactic enemies, these anal probing aliens need to know if we have the fighting spirit... and what better way to discover this than perform painful procedures on parts of our anatomy.
