I've installed the trial version of Fences on my laptop (Win 7 Home), and before I buy, I want to make sure the program can do one very specific thing, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.  

I have two icons that I want in the upper left hand corner of my desktop.  I've set up a fence that includes the two icons, that's great.  Now, how do I make it so:

The fence can never be movedThe icon order can never be changedUnless I unlock it, nothing can be ...

The behaviour I am used to seeing when new icons are added is that they go where the foobar copy icon is:



(This is a screenshot of the top left of my desktop)

If I had more new icons added (from downloads mainly since I told my browser to save to desktop), they would keep stacking vertically downwards (so the next one would go under the foobar copy).

Unfortunately, Fences changes this behaviour. Watch what happens when I copy and paste an icon (using shortcuts, because right clickin...

hi guys I cannot activate any ashampoo product,while running windowblinds.works fine if I unload windowblinds and reboot though.what happeng is click on activate then a black screen comes behind software and goes into not responding loop.any help appreciated.p.s any other software activates just fine though.

I use Firefox 32 and Windowblind 8 without problems.  However, recently, when I upgraded to Firefox 35, the top of Firefox Windowblind was not there.  I moved back to Firefox versions 34 and 33, still the same.  Then back to 32, and Windowblind 8 works fine.  No problem with Windowblind 8 on other applications. I run Windows 7 Professional with all updates.

Any thoughts?

I remember in the old days(Good Old) you had skinners making minimalistic, thin border window blinds with a roll up button.  Damn few skinners put the roll up button anymore and it seems thin borders are out.  One reason most of my blinds are old.

Why on earth are master skin prices going up?  The other day the were mismarked at $20.  that is SCARY!

Funny thing when a skin for a Stardock Product costs as much as or more than the Stardock product itself.  That is bad news for the community and will diminish the Windowblinds product brand and value.

Looked at it again and at $9.99 it is still high.  Any master skin should be priced the same price as a song on itunes...   $.99 .   Same amount of work as a ...

Unable to determine where to make some, what should be, simple changes to a skin in Skin Studio.

I would like to change the color of selection bar when hovering over items under the Start Menu --> All Programs.

I would also like to widen the display area of the Start Menu/All Programs area.

What is the procedure for doing this? Any assistance would be appreciated.

I've attached a link to a screen shot that notates what I would like to do.

Just to be an “equal opportunity revealer”, Google has published Apple’s security flaws in Yosemite.

Google says it notified Apple back in October 2014 of three flaws (one of which Apple has mitigated) and true to form, published them 90 days later.

So, MS isn’t Google’s only victim. Apple says the other fixes are in beta testing and should be out in a 10.10.2 update “soon”, when it goes into general availability.

Again I ask, what’s the rush to publish this stuff whic...

Fence Labels don't respond to mouse clicks. I can't move Fences, I can't delete a Fence, I can't get the options menu to drop down when clicking on it. Worked fine for 2/3 of the time trial period but then stopped responding. Shows 10 days left on the free trial period.

The icons in the Fences respond fine and from a right click on the Desktop the Configure Fences choice works fine but I can't find anything in there to help me. Am I missing something?

The Control Panel in the latest nVidia drivers for my laptop (GTX 860 GPU) crashes upon launch. I have to unload WindowBlinds or switch to the default skin if I want to open it. The beta version of WB does not prevent the program from crashing. I've tried excluding it in WB, but it still will crash upon launch.

I know you folks try hard, but it's still a bit annoying. If the upcoming Windows 10 includes Aero or something like it, my copy of WB is not going to make the switch...

Symptom: default Windows 8 icons look wrong. For example "shield" icon for some .exe files and for unknown files (also for files without extension) etc.

Here's how to fix it:

 

0) backup your registry, just in case (I recommend also to create a restore point)

1) start regedit

2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer and expand it

3) find "Shell Icons" key (note: this key does not normally exist in fresh Windows 8 installation...

I have a system with two screens, driven by an NVidia GeForce card. Once a month, this checks for, downloads and installs new drivers. At the end of the install, all of my Fences shift on to the primary screen. So, to put them back, I fire up fences, select the last snapshot and restore it.

Nothing happens. All of the fences remain on the primary screen and there is nothing I can do to restore their position using Fences. I have to manually sort through them and drag them to the secondary scr...
