Truth about the fast boot in 8 being a hybrid hibernate and not a full shutdown.

When running a windows gadget that shows uptime on it, I shutdown. Then start back up, and the uptime meter never stopped running. Even after being "shutdown" for 8 hours.

A restart, however, resets the uptime meter to zero.

All the online info about fast boot says that a restart isn't affected.

Hello. I'm new to WindowBlinds and just downloaded the trial version. I just purchased a Win 8.1 tablet (venue pro 8) and work a fair amount in the desktop environment (probably more than metro). But the touch targets (close, minimize buttons) on the windows can be fairly small which can be a bit frustrating.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a skin with larger touch targets that would compliment a touch interface better in the desktop environment?

I use a zoomer dock with icons for folders that drop down as lists when I click on them. Some programs won't run from the dropdown list. For instance, with Comodo Internet Security I receive error msg

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Comodo\Comodo Internet Security\cfp.exe

The specified path does not exist

Check the path and try again."

Of course, that path doen't exist, because Comodo installs in C:\program files\Comodo...etc, not in C:\program Files (x86)!

I've recently set up a second monitor on my PC (on both Windows 7 and Windows 8) and I've noticed that, ever since I've done so, all visible ObjectDock docks remain visible whenever I enter fullscreen mode for a video.

For example, I've noticed that when I go on YouTube and open up a video to fullscreen mode, the docks will still be there (in the way!)

Anybody else have this problem or anybody know if this'll be fixed in the near-future?

I have been testing a lot of Win 8 PC's lately and I always install Start8 and when I format and reinstall Windows I thought it would have known I had already activated Start8 previously, but it now says I have activated it too many times, can I have it reset?

Today, Gmail had a worldwide outage. The reason for it hasn’t been given, but after scrambling to get their huge servers back online, one hotmail account started getting thousands of emails.

David S. Peck is the poor shnook this happened to. When you search Google for gmail, and you click on a link, you open an email with the address dsp559@hotmail.com. The emails aren’t from a single link, and have no spam attached…so he can’t even filter them out.

Why do we NOT have a delete option on a skin upload

If we make a mistake or change our mind we should be able to delete the item before it gets uploaded

Yes we have an edit option but in some cases all items can't be changed .

I made a mistake on a dream upload - had no delete option , tried to edit but it would not upload a

new ( .swf ) file for the preview - just sat on please wait and never went to submit .

Also we do have an option to delete a skin the was upload...

Hi

After using it for one month with Windows 8.1 I finally decided to uninstall it.

Reason 1: From time to time, some icons simply dissapear
Reason 2: Whenever some game launch in non native screen resolution, few icons are "kicked out" from fence window.
Which was forcing me to re-adding em in appropriate fence non stop

Than I uninstalled Fences and now 70% of icons are blank and I need to re-set em again.

So I reverted back to trusty Iconoid (Like I had in in Win 7) and now my ic...

He came to it by virtue of the devices we have which communicate with themselves and with other devices by blue tooth and via the internet. Rasmussen pointed to remotely programmable pacemakers and vehicles. These could be hijacked.

Ive been working on a Mac'ish skin for Windows 8.1 running latest Windowblinds. Its based on the Corporate skin so nothing I will put up for dl but I wonder if anyone knows if its possible to skin the white stuff under the titlebar? (Or atleast change its color) Where it says Arkiv and so on. Cant seem to find a way, im using Skinstudio and would be thankfull for any help!

I read up on some nastys and i wonder what i can do to protect my data
Im not talking about Facebook, twitter, amazon and co hijacking only, im also worried about my personal information such as logins, contacts and all the above.

The easiest way would be to stay of mobile data transfer and wifi but thats not a real option.
So can someone experienced give me some advice would appreciate it.

I do some mistake in the regustration, i forget to activate my account over my mail account and do not run as "administror".
