Dream Submission Guidelines

As the # of animated wallpapers submitted increases, we're having to establish some guidelines on what is and isn't going to be accepted:

Content MUST loop. An animated wallpaper should have a reasonably transitioning loop.
Do NOT submit content other people's work without their permission. We are allowing some leeway right now on this rule for content that is based on content distributed on the net until we determine the legality of this.
Content must be high-definition. That means the v...

Flashmobs in Mogadishu, marches in Bute and mass rallies in India: Eve Ensler on the global response to her One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women.

Since Eve Ensler launched the One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women she has been repeatedly asked: is it a dance movement or overtly political? A protest or a giant global celebration? Ju...

Ya gotta love Tarantino...

There was one bit that HAS TO BE the funniest piece of film I have seen in YEARS....

I know he loves paying homage to all those old B Movies..... but this time there was a bit of 'Blazing Saddles'-style.

Will it be another 'cult classic' like Pulp Fiction?

Possibly...

BTW... don't spoil it for anyone.  Anything resembling a 'spoiler' will be removed...

Hi folks, being sending you a pile of hugs from Norther Ireland where I am to stay almost for a month for the biz. Although after 14 days I am going home for a week and than back, so it is bearable. Or has to. As you know Magdalene (wife) gave birth to Mathew 6 wks ago plus minus so it will be more difficult for her to look after two kids daily, but she does not have a plenty of choices, right? That makes me unhappy but sometimes we are forced to take the things as they are.

I would like to t...

There’s a really great series of totally free Photoshop basics tutorials on psdtuts+ , for those interested in learning the basics or just brushing up on stuff not used in a while.

They are taught by Martin Parhiniak who is a graphics designer and Certified Expert Design Master by Adobe where he worked for three years.

Anyway, Martin’s vids are free on the website: http://psd.tutsplus.com/sessions/photoshop-basix/

What’s really nice about these vids ...

So the computer finally is showing it's age

It's taken me awhile to start this thread, sorry. I know this may end up in flame wars. Again I am sorry.

So everyone knows my situation. Well those close to me on this site do. My computer is finally showing signs of how old it truly is. Keep in mind my computer has a Pentium 4 processor so I am guessing this setup to be almost ten years old. The problem, even after a few friends helped me here with a new hard drive and more memory, is the rest of the system. The processor can't keep...

The aero option is still available in this just-released build. But the 'intel' is it won't be in any further beta (if there is one) and not in the

RTM and retail versions. That means, as far as I'm concerned, WinBlinds is back in the loop (I lived without it on WN7.) I like aero - turn it

off and you'll see what I mean. Bland. There will be many, especially those using Metro on phones and pads, who won't want it.  I can see

the reason for that. A flat look ...

Features I think would be great in Fences 2

I tried reading through all the recommendation threads to make sure I wasn't repeating anyone.  A few features I'd love to see in some capacity for fences are:

The ability to disable icon labels per fence (I also recommended to MS to be able to disable the text as a property of the shortcut). Yes I know I can rename it to a null character but I have a lot of icons and it still leaves a gap underneath.

Change icon padding per fence. You know, the spacing between icons.

Grid ...

I need a new TV series to watch

What television series would you recommend to someone to start from scratch?

For instance, I’ve never watched Lost but I don’t think I could handle 7+ years or whatever it was of shows mainly because I heard the show ended up like X-Files where the creators were kind of winging it.

Any suggestions?

Windows 8 Icon Request

Hi,

I'm in need for the Windows 8's System/OS drive icon to complete a transformation kit I'm working on.

I couldn't find this icon anywhere, but found few ones on the internet but they're not the original one and not properly done.

Anyway, this should be fairly easy to anyone who's running Windows 8.

This is the icon I need:

If you haven’t heard of the Dog Shame group on Facebook, it’s hilarious. I contributed Bailey to it today when I came back from a meeting with Derek I found her in my office with the remnants of my candy bar (and yes, it was chocolate).

It would be best if that feature was able to download & install the latest Fences 2.x upgrade.

But even a notice: "You have the latest version of Fences!" or a notice saying "There is a newer version available, please go to ... to download it" would be better than the current lack of this feature.

Thanks!

Sorting rules

I have setup a rule to send all program shortcuts to a particular fence, but it doesn't work all the time. It seems that shortcuts created in my own desktop folder are handled correctly, but that shortcuts created in the Public/desktop folder aren't. The latter are sent to the fence I setup as default to place new files in.
