Turns out a clever hacker (Clrokr) has been running W8 software on A Surface and an RT OS.

MS has described RT as “Similar to W8”. As it turns out, the hacker states they are the same OS only that MS has made RT unable to run W8 software apps. Clrokr has “undisabled” that.

Using DeskScapes 3 on My Vista machine. After returning from a standard times display turn off often I will get a blank background screen. If the computer  goes into Standby, on retrun it will always give me a blank screen. Interestingly,  by right clicking and bringing up Configure Deskcapes, the correct background will come up by itself.

It’s a pretty rare event when DHS warns to disable the Java in your browser, but they have because of a Zero Day security flaw which allows infected applets to infect your computer via your browser and allow elevation of privileges to occur.

Once this occurs, your computer will no longer keep your sensitive data private.

The apps and code to do this are out in the wild, so this is not theoretical.

So… do the recommended.

I am n.ot able to do anything with my objectdock plus. No reflextions, skins, no color for tabs. I don"t understand. I have windows 7  64 bits. The settings do not open. I can't custumize icons except change somme shorcuts. I am displeased. Someone can help, please?

If I try to change the extension of a file on the desktop, Windows displays a warning dialog (as expected).  However, with Fences installed, the dialog appears briefly (fraction of a second) and then gets placed behind/under any open windows (i.e., bottom of the z-order).  Attempting to bring it to the foreground (by clicking on the title of the dialog) caused the dialog to again be moved to underneath.

Is there any way to get the start menu in Windows 7 to position itself at its icon in Objectdock?

(As opposed to the default position in the left lower corner.)

I always have problems with Firefox when using custom skins, I have tried multiple, new and Stardock skins like Win8. I have disabled Firefox to be skinned in settings, tested many settings, although the problem persists, with not being able to see the close/resize/minimize buttons in the right top corner. They are blanked out and unfuncitonal.

I do a lot with photoshop and all my PSD files reverted back to the stock default icon.

 

Any idea how I can get these back?  yeah, from my recipe folder   i have hundreds more, yeah seriously...

As always, AERO disabled while running/working with FSX ... so the only skin of 'note' is the QANTAS aircraft one [it's not real...as the aircraft is a Tupolev Tu-114].

WindowsBlinds does not allow me to change the theme on my account, instead, it allows me to change the theme on the ADMINS account.

Why won't it allow me to change the theme on mine but allow me to change it on the Admins acount?

I cannot get IconPackager to change my live folders.  I'm using a package that has live folders built-in.  I've rebuilt the icon cache several times.  When I look at the shell icons entry in the registry, it does point to my live folders icon package images. What am I missing???
