Shortly after the Northeast blackout of 2003, my wife and I started to take disaster preparedness seriously.  The blackout only lasted a couple of days but we realized that had the blackout not occurred in the Summer and had the blackout lasted much longer, we would have been in serious trouble.

I have bought CursorFX Plus for Windows 8 and it install good and all but my cursor is still the same default one, if any1 have this installed on Windows 8, I'd like to know how you did it, I tried uninstalling and installing in different compatibility but nothing works. Thanks.

 

Edit : Free Version works fine on WInXP Compatibility but paid version doesnt????

Hello,

I've installed the latest version of window blinds on my Windows 8 computer.

However, the taskbar on my second monitor is constantly popping up and then hiding again about one time per second.

It's acting almost like the Windows wants to alert you that there's something going on in one of the programs that you are running. This annoyance only takes place on the taskbar on the second monitor, on my primary monitor it does not do this.

When I change my display settings, my fences all shift to a different monitor. It's a pain dragging them back to the correct one, one by one.

What's strange is that I can middle-click drag (or move my mouse to the edge of the screen and drag) and all the fences move together. But they don't stick. They just snap back to their original position when I'm done dragging. Or they disappear, and I have to double click on the screen to get them to sap back.

I hate passwords which expire. This is why.

Folks, MS apparently didn’t pretest the patches thoroughly enough.

“The issues affected users of various Office programs and suites, including Office 2013. In addition, two non-security patches for PowerPoint 2010 also had the same issue.” – Neowin.net

Apparently now they’ve gotten their final fix.

Even if you downloaded them before, download and install the fixes.

So far, that’s two months running that MS has pulled inadequately tested patches.

Thought I would ask about a few issues I had with a laptop I am working with. 

This notebook is always hot to the touch around the left palm rest. Just warm I guess, not blazing hot. CPU is located under the keyboard towards the top on the left side. 

The CPU is a Intel Core i3 dual core CPU with hyper threading, 2.4 GHz and speedstep.

I have a program that monitors the CPU temp. It runs around 126F when idle. If I open over 4 tabs in Google Chrome then run a few other program...

I've been using a WB skin with transparency since WB 6.x.  The last stable version I used was WB 7.4.  However, after I upgraded to WB 8.01 beta, I noticed sometimes apps lose their titlebar and frame completely.  Restarting the app fixes the issue, at least for a while.  I'm not sure if this issue is a known issue; or, maybe, indirectly related to another reported issue or not.  Anyway, I thought I'd at least mention it here.

I just updated again to Fences 2 (2.10) from Fences Pro 1.10 and installed on the basis of the positive reply from a Stardock support rep at the end of the thread, "Has the "Exclude from Fences quick-hide" been fixed yet in Fences 2?"  However, I'm not finding the Exclude option in the Context Menu of apps.  Here's an example: http://i44.tinypic.com/zufbjl.jpg.  Win 8x64

 

Update: 

Only documents (pdf, xls, etc.), including new ones, show the Exclude fro...

Whenever I am using any skin with Window Blinds 8 running on my Windows 8 PC it distorts the look-and-feel of my Microsoft PowerPoint application.

 

There are 2 major issues and 1 minor issue. 

 

    1. The tabs at the top of the GUI are missing (they are not actually missing just invisible until I click them then all others become invisible).

 

    2. There is a huge dead area starting from about the middle of the GUI down to the bottom....

I'm getting this problem where, when WindowBlinds is running, my file explorer windows are exhibiting the following behaviour:

 

1) Open a file explorer window, window is draggable

2) Attempt to close the window, the close button click animation happens, but then the window doesn't close

3) Window is now not draggable and the window control buttons in the top left are all unresponsive.

that I planed to publish as a Stardock- Designer!

It has come to our attention that some people may have had issues with some apps and WB and opted not to tell anyone about it.

Obviously we would like to know about them so we can resolve the issues.

i have always were able to access stardock forums through forums.stardock.com, now for the last week or so i get the stardock forums are down for maintenance. i can get on from home and my cell but at work it does not work. both explorer and firefox i even downloaded crome to see and same problem. can anybody help?
