Well i thought this would be a good post since we also had some interesting posts about the can looking like macintosh pro.
So i thought i make a post about the new design of the new alienware PC.
I think the whole shape and form of it looks pretty amazing despite whats build into it.
This thing is seriously looking like alientech   The shape reminds me of Dario Arnaez logo a bit.

WindowFX 6 don't darken the unfocused Windows (often). Windows 8.1 Professional. When I start the Windows it works or not (often don't works).

I rolled back to WindowFX 5. It works fine.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and now All Dreams ( Jpeg. WMV AVI ) versions are working fine.

Also Dream Maker works on 10 , when I upgraded windows said to Delete Dream Maker ( before install ) , so I

thought there might be a problem but after loading Win 10 I reloaded Dream Maker and it works just fine.

I did install K Lite Codecs ( full ) latest version just out this week.

You still need the Mpeg 2 decoder installed to play some of the older dreams in the K Lite pkg.

So on the machine I use everyday I have an issue. I use Chrome. When in Chrome, I get constant redirects and popups. 

I have tried the following with these results:

AVG full scan - clean
MSE full scan - clean
Malewarebytes - clean
Superantispyware - clean
Spybot - clean
ADWcleaner - clean
Hitman PRO - clean

The popups and browser hijacks have to be some sort of virus. But all of these say the machine is clean???

I just recently upgraded to win 10 and found an issue with moving desktop icons.  A little bit of research showed that my older version of fences was supposedly the problem.  So I searched out an updated version.  I was able to sign up for a 30 day trial of v2.01, but the icon problem still exists.  Now looking back to the forums I read before, it says v2.13 will fix this problem.  I cannot find 2.13 anywhere, nor does my current version have a link to update.  Can ...

I just tried to install Windows 10, but was told I had to remove Deskscapes 3 first. I haven't actualy used Deskscapes for ages but, to my astonishment it seems impossible to uninstal.

Can it be true that Stardock require me to renew my subscription in order to uninstall their software?

 

Surely not. I mean, what software house on the planet would want it to be known that one has to pay money in order to uninstall their software?

My 'mean' machine chucked a wobbly on Saturday....

Dunno what happened, but those wonderful BSODs referenced 'asmtxhci.sys' which is an ASUS USB3 driver.

I have a vague feeling it might have been caused by plugging in a mem card reader earlier that day.

Being a 'devoted' user of  True Image 15, I had incremental backups of the OS and a last full one that dated to Wednesday ... which is ultimately what I restored to.

Being clever, I also have in place ever...

I just noticed it took about 15 minutes after I re-started my computer for the fences and icons to show on my computer.  What gives?

Have installed Fences on Windows 8.

Tried it on a laptop I tried Windows 8 out on a week or so ago, and now have put it on a Windows 8 Pro (x64) install...

On laptop Fences behaved fine. Well, it behaves fine on the Windows 8 Pro on my main computer BUT it takes about 15 seconds to load after windows finishes loading. I have no desktop Icons until Fences finally loads (or perhaps loads straight away but nothing shows for 15 seconds or so). The machine boots in about 5 seconds or so, so its...

First let me begin by saying that I hope this thread does not become a tobacco bashing thread with rants of how smoking is harmful. I think we all know that smoking anything is not good for our bodies and just because pipe smokers are generally not inhalers does not make it safe. I gave up smoking cigarettes 25 years ago however about 3 times a week, (usually in the morning with a cup of coffee) I smoke a bowl in one of my pipes, yes it is tobacco and yes it is a tobacco pipe, lol.

As strange...

How do you exclude the desktop from being blurred/dimmed?

When I close/minimize all the windows on my desktop, the actual desktop background remains blurred and dimmed until I click on the desktop. It should be clear once everything is minimized and/or closed. Am I missing some setting or how do I exclude the Windows desktop from being affected by the inactive windows settings?

I have just been on the Fences page and the page states that fences is compatible with Windows 10, is this true?

I read on the forum that people are having problems with Fences running on Windows 10!

I ask this question because I am in the process of getting a Windows 10 laptop.

 

Any help or advice would be gratefully accepted.

I checked the folder c:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock and Windowblinds is listed as a folder there but the program doesn't launch properly from there either.  One file, wb8config.exe, runs something but the window it opens is blank except for the line "Download more skins from WinCustomize" which is a link to that site.  I've run the install a few times, rebooted a few times with no change to the result.

I run as a user, not admin, but can act as an admin if Windows 8.1 promp...

I've installed fences on my W10 machine and it takes ages for starting.

After 1 minute without desktop icons fences show up after a few clicks...

I've a registered version.

Does anyone have any tip or sugestion to solve this problem ?
