Life with Microsoft Surface: Day 6
Yesterday I mentioned that there's no Metro version of the Windows essentials utilities. This remains a baffling issue as a Live Movie Maker and a Live Writer would be very nice to haven.
I will say that the Metro version of Skype is nice. Which brings me to today's observation: Microsoft has got to come up with a distinct classification for WinRT apps because it's impossible to do a decent search on the terms Modern and UI. As in, what is the best Modern UI Face...![]()

Jack Klugman Has Passed On...
Jack Klugman, star of Quincy, and The Odd Couple has died at age 86.He battled throat cancer, and had to relearn how to speak. He passed with his wife at his side. The immediate reason for his death is unknown at the present.He will be missed... We closed down shop last Friday and migrated to our local movie theater to see “The Hobbit”.

How I extract individual icons from an IP for use in ODP and Nexus
When I want a set of icons for ODP or Nexus to match a particular desktop, I usually extract them from an IP. I’ve no idea if this is the best way to go about it, but here’s what I do:
1-- Open ID. Four options will appear. I select “open icon”
2-- Then I select file\open and navigate in windows explorer to the target IP and click on it.

Fences 2 crashing windows explorer
Windows explorer is constantly crashing since I installed the free version of fences. I am running Windows 7, 32 bit OS, The desktop also is certainly slower compared to pre-Fences and it freezes for some time with each crash. Very annoying and interrupting.
I just bought Fences 2.0 hoping to stop this problem. Unfortunately, Fences 2.0 is also causing the same problem, even more frequent than the free version.

Fences installs and crashes explorer immediately
I'm running Win7-64 on an SSD and as soon as I install Fences (just upgraded to 2.02) I get the 'Explorer has stopped responding' error and I can't do anything with Fences.
The Win install is less than a month old and the only things running in memory are AVG, Malwarebytes and Steam.
Anyone have an idea?

Fences won't work on Win7 64Bit
I just don't know what the deal is. I am using Fences Public and no matter what I do it continues to restart my explorer to the point of disabling Fences. Makes me wonder how well known this issue is considering there is a feature that disables it because of the fact that explorer crashes.

wobbly windows not working
I can not seem to get wobbly windows to work since i installed stardocks object desktop full suite. I have windowfx installed of course but no wobbly windows and i love the wobbly windows on linux but have to use windows due to we run an ecommerce site on ebay. I need this feature! Someone please tell me why the DWM is not enabled cause i checked and in fact it is showing up in windowfx as being disabled! I want to make one thing clear.. Windows 7 is the best operating system to have ever been released by Microsoft..
Windows 8 is the worst piece of shit in the whole history of microsoft and i can probably guess theres some kind of espionage thing going on where they convert all user hate mail about the new ui to positive reviews.
Anyway --i think this is the best for everyone because now we can all buy m...![]()
