I have been discovering lots of really good Windows 8 modern apps lately.  This is especially true now that I can use them in a window on my desktop with ModernMix.

I listed 3 of my favorites here, but I'd like to hear what others have found and are using.

I found a video file online that is pretty awesome and want to use it as a triple monitor dream (About 6000x1200 pixels). It is rather large (1.8 GB), and I have the codecs to play it. I think it is MPEG2, but AVI file for sure. Not real knowledgeable about video codecs. 

Anyway, DreamMaker can't use it as it is well over 150MB, and I can't get it to add to the Deskscapes 3 Configuration. Any one know if I can play this? I am obviously running Windows 7 as Windows 8 is ...

Hi,

 

I notice that when the option for hiding the desktop icons when the desktop is not in focus is turned on, it doesn't let you rename any icons you have.

 

1. Turn on the option to hide the desktop icons unless the desktop has focus

2. Select on of the icons. Either right-click, then Rename, or just press F2

 

Result: The icons disappear, and renaming doesn't work (even if you type sight unseen).

Expected: To be able to rename the icons.

According to the windows 8 ready library, kind of none of the existing premium skins are currently supported. Since I own of lot of those and like them very much, I'am a bit dissapointed.

Will that ever change? When could we expect support?

Why are even those amazing videos by TheMasterBaron affected? Due to some changes some hybrid dreams may do not work now, but a simple video?

Are they all actually working totally fine?

Currently I do not have any use for deskscapes on win 8 w...

So I just purchased Fences yesterday, and I'm really liking it, but there are a few things that I'd love to see implemented in a future version.

1- Option to leave the placement of desktop icons alone.  Fences are great for organizing the desktop, but they shouldn't necessitate all-or-nothing usage.  I often have 1 or 2 files that I want to separate from others on a temporary basis - files that I'll need for maybe a day or two but will be deleted after that.  Wi...

When will we get WindowBlinds for Windows 8? Windows 8 has been released for a couple of months now.

Not only WindowBlinds, how about other software in the Object Desktop for which I paid and can not use?!

 

Many of us have paid a yearly subscription and for those of us who 'upgraded' to Windows 8 upon release, and those who had the beta versions for longer, we have not been getting our money's worth!

Hi,

When I drag and drop an attached file from outlook to the desktop, any icon that was selected on the desktop before dragging will still be selected so that that when I then drag the file (now on the desktop) to another icon, both the file and the icon will be dragged.

Is this a feature or bug?

I think this is the reason I keep losing icons.

 

Steps to duplicate:

1. Click on any icon in a fence

2. Click on outlook (icon on desktop not selected anymore)

Have been using Fences since it's inception and am finding it's really helped organizing my daily workflow and is generally convenient.

Am using Fences 2.10 on a Win7 Pro 64, and use the most current Windowsblinds and Icon Packager.  I utilize two monitors. (1) 2560x1440 and (2) 1920x1280. I keep 3 active Fences on the right hand side of (1); they run in a vertical line. 

However, after a recent windows update two of my Fences disappeared entirely. I did not move them m...

Just upgraded to fences pro in order to have the ability to arrange icons within a fence.     It appeared on your fences page that this was one of the benefits of the getting the upgraded version.

However, it looks like there is no way to do this, and I am forced to use one of the default windows sort options inside the fence.   Is this correct?
