I am using Windows 10 Home, version 1709 (OS build 16299.192) and Stardock Fences 3.0.5.12

The problem I have, is that Windows does not start up properly. I get a black screen and nothing happens.

When I restart everything seems to be normal and I get the Fences on my screen.

Obviously, this is very annoying and I wonder if anybody can give me an explanation and solution for this behaviour.

Hi,

Fences 3.0.5.12 Windows 10 1709 16299.192

Fences is randomly changing shortcut names within a fence (and I only have one fence set up at the moment) to the filename of a just used file or folder. The shortcut link still opens to the correct place, but it now has the wrong name, which is confusing and very annoying.

This has happened for over a year on 2 different computers and various versions of Windows, so the problem must lie within Fences....

Hi, Fences soo far works as expected apart from when I sometimes boot into windows 10 my fences swap their location onto the other monitor and visa-versa.

It's as if the Fences detects the primary display as my second monitor and applies the fences to said monitor instead of my primary and visa-versa.

Does this happen to anyone else with a two monitor setup?

I always download dream files to a folder of that name on my c: drive. I believe DeskScapes also makes a copy of each deram buried in a folder under USERS. Is there any reason for mne to keep my folder copies after the app has made a copy for its purposes? The only change I can see is the copied file names are all in caps.

I use Fences for productivity reasons, not for visually appealing eye candy.

Could you please have add settings within Fences that are optimized for Performance / minimal resource utilization.

I don't need to see a pretty animation of the icons drifting from my desktop to the Fence.

I don't need to see animations at all really.

Please add low resource/performance options - I still prefer the way Fences 2.0 worked.

Also, why cant I download Betas from my account...

Is there a way to render the fences on the desktop to the topmost position windows stack?
If not, could there be made an option where the user can set a hotkey which when pressed all the fences are brought to top windows stack.

This is great when you have a lot windows open and you quickly need to access a folder and do not have to go the desktop first and then click the desired fence/folder portal.

Just tried Fences and missed, like others, a way to set colors of multiple fences to an exact value. I figured out a workaround, using the Windows Registry:

Color values of the Fences Groups are stored here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences\Skinning

listet with names like "4Color", "5Color" and so on. This entries only exist if you had choosed an individual color to one or more groups before.

The value of the key is the hex value of the color transparency followed by the RG...

I've installed Fences on 5 PCs/VMs and because the Windows Upgrade didn't worked I've installed Windows 10 again on two PCs. Now I cannot get an activation on these two PCs again. Is it possible to get the licence out of the Windows.old folder? Is there another way to activate them again?

My desktop ICONS were shifting on startup and someone recommended Fences.................Nice package but now the icons shift on startup inside my FENCES.............Not as bad as shifting on desktop..............but FENCES did not fix my problem. Any suggestions

I'm wondering if you are planning on adding a mirror fences options across multiple screens. I searched the whole web and It's something that nobody ever did but there are some requests online.

Basically I use 3 screens to program and It would be really helpfull if I had the same desktop icons and files on all my screens.

After reading about Brads awesome Build. I also will be building around an 8700K. My question to you folks who have done so.

I am likely going to use an Asrok extreme 4 motherboard.

z370 extreme 4 (asrok)Samsung 960 Evo 250gig NVME M.2

The NVME was going only have Windows. That's it.

All that lovely space only for the bloatware that is Windows 10 Pro. Ill have a 4 terrabyte platter drive for storage and windows folders such as downloads, my documents and 'desk...
