I have just started using Windows 8 Pro and I appreciate some of my Object Desktop programs, which I love, do not work well on there. However I have loaded Start 8, Decor 8, FX5 (which works better in 8 than 7) and Fences 2.0. Everything worked okay until I loaded DeskScape 8 (and 3 for some reason??) and suddenly Fences 2.0 has started playing up, e.g. I cannot move icons around the desktop or into or within Fences. Unloaded Fences 2.0 and everything was back to normal, e.g. d...![]()

Instant messaging
I am looking to install basic instant messaging (ala text messaging with a cell phone). I'm not interested in chat rooms, etc. I'm looking for a basic way to replace the texting functions of a cell phone with a similiar thing PC-www-PC. Just me and tow or three others. Don't want to get exposed to all the spam IM, and "people" trolling with IMs for "contacts" personal or otherwisae.

Deskscapes 8 Makes Explorer.exe Restart
Every time I reboot my PC, Deskscapes 8 makes an error come up saying "explorer.exe needs to restart"
Why is this?

Looks like the White House finally did something positive coming on the side of reversing the librarian of congress decision about making it illegal to unlock your phone. Although, allowing the librarian of congress to pass or revoke such exceptions is quite ridiculous in the first place. It will still take an act of congress to reverse it.

MS Capitulates on Office 2013 licensing.
Remember the angst over Office 2013 licensing regarding non transferability of Office 2013 to other machines in your possession?

Restoring Fences Settings From Old Drive
I had a partial HDD failure recently where I lost enough sectors to require replacing the disk but about 95% of the disk is readable. The disk is not however bootable.
Do I have any means of recovering Fences settings and layout from this disk (assuming the necessary files are readable)?

1: is there a way to search the forums? The search box just seems to be Google, and I'm sure people have asked these questions before, and I don't want to be annoying bugging you with classic FAQs, but there you are.

Is Support Always This Unresponsive?
I have been unable to reset a password for my Stardock account and I have no sent four requests to support with no reply.

webcam intel CS330
I cannot find a driver for my intel CS330 webcam. Intel no long supports it. MS does not (surprise!) support it. Does anyone have access to any of the older drivers? I really can't afford a new webcam.![]()

Will WindowBlinds 8 bring the transparency back to Win8 ?

I just read that you are working on WindowBlinds 8.
I have tried Win8 but went back to Win7. I don't mind the new startscreen, but I am really missing the transparency. I want to have nice looking desktop therefore I used WB for years. You'll understand that I do not like the looks of Win8.
So the big question is, will there be transparency again with WindowBlinds 8 and Win8 ?

Icon Use/Hover Change
So it's always irked me slightly that one of the things we lose when using a dock is the effect of the default Windows Vista/7 Start Orb. I personally like the idea of icons changing (as opposed to rigging two frames via the animated icons docklet) between the default, a hover and clicked icon. Just curious if anyone else has missed this or knows of a docklet that can apply that effect back to the docks Start Orb or even icons in general.![]()
