Hi All,

ObjectDock was last updated on July 15, 2014, nearly 2.5 years ago. Has Stardock abandoned it?

I'm trying to run it on my Surface Pro 4 running the latest version of Windows 10, and there are three major bugs:

Hello.
I have a problem with fences 2 and 3 on Windows 10 fresh install.
Fences are loaded 5-10-15 seconds after desktop is shown during startup.
Another problem is that icons which are on the desktop but not in fences also are not shown before fences would load.

I've just purchased Fences version 3.0 and installed it 'over the top' of an existing Fences 2 installation on a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 laptop.

I've noticed that the folder icon which denotes a folder portal is now displaced a few pixels down from where it should be. See this screenshot for an example.

It's not a huge problem, it just look a bit odd.

Can it be fixed?

Well, today's Israel's Memorial Day...so, not a very happy. More like the way ours was supposed to be, I think.

I have Windows 10 Pro. Always the most current updates. I purchased Object Desktop with Fences 3. I have NO problem with Fences. Seems to work just great.

BUT, I have had to completely rebuild my computer by doing a complete re-install of Windows 3 times. This takes hours of time and the user then has to completely re-install and set up all applications unless you have it burned to DVD.

On one of these problems I the system slowed so badly that just starting up the browser took more than 1...

Last week my old Compaq win7 machine gave up the ghost. It was a solid computer that was in service since 2009. I never really had to do anything but use it all that time. It just powers off randomly. I'll have it looked at eventually. Maybe it's not a big deal.

I remember Jafo telling me about his rig, so you could imagine how horrified I was to see his beloved Level 10 being assailed and ridiculed by PC Gamer on a public forum... they list it as one of the "ugliest they've ever seen".

I upgraded to Fences 3.x from 2.x because I hoped it would fix my issues as was mentioned in the features: "Use fences on modern, high DPI monitors.".

But perhaps my case is not covered here. So sad. 

 

My case:

Microsoft Surface Book, display 3000x2000, scaling 200% (recommended). Fences works fine on this display alone.

Adding external monitor over mini-HDMI-to-DisplayPort, 1920x1080, scaling 100%.

10.6 is doing funny things to my skins. The task bars are too tall. Images that should be transparent are showing the desktop in the transparent area instead of the object behind it. Start Menu items are all over the place like I had before, even with AV disabled.

1) Taskbar from 6502 skin. The "Rebar Gripper" is showing the desktop instead of the taskbar background.



2) Text items in wrong positions. Incorrect search icon in search text box. Missing restart buttons.

I have Fences 3.03. It's prompting me to install an update, but I don't seem to be able to download it. It just hangs with "0 Bytes of 11.58 MB" downloaded.

I tried going to the Stardock website to see if I could download it from there, but the site links to "stardock.cachefly.net", which my browser regards as a malware site; I can't download from there.
