Hi,

Periodically, maybe once a week, all my desktop icons and Fence folders disappear. At first I think I inadvertantly double-clicked the desktop and Fences did what it's configured to but when I double-click the desktop nothing comes back.

I have found that if I try to refresh the desktop, the icons reappear for less than a second and are gone again. So far, the only thing that fixes this is to reboot the PC.

It appears to be a bug but I'm open to suggestions.

I've got Fences v3.0....

Hello,

I have installed the newest update of Windows 10 - Creators Update - today and saw, that in a folder portal on my desktop all the entries will be shown as medium icons. Even if I change it to a short list as before, on a restart of my laptop the folder portal sjows the icons. It seems, that my changes will not be saved permanently. 

Is this issue already known?

Hey !

I just Un-Installed & Installed The Latest versions of WindowBlinds & SkinStudio And when I tried to activate WindoBlinds it WILL NOT activate...says there's some problem with the "Activation server"

I turned off all the protection (AV ETC) Still No-Go. 

Please advise

Occasionally an icon will jump out of a fence. Soon as I click on it the icon will highlight then un-highlight after i let up on the button.Also, after this happens, many times the icon will LOCK in place on my desktop. It will appear to drag, and there will be an icon under my pointer, but the original LOCKED icon is still showing on the desktop...At this point I need to un-check the enable box on the "HOME" tab, wait for a few seconds then wait a good minute until finally all the icons return ...

Got an update to Win10 Pro overnight and now I'm having problems with a Fences popup asking if I want to create a fence or folder portal.  The popup appears in the top left corner of the screen and is obscuring icons of programs running at full screen such as Chrome.   I've used Fences for many years and hardly ever change any settings.

Is there some way of stopping this occurring?

One of the most regular types of post on these forums come from people who didn't realise Object Desktop (and its kin) are subscription software. Responses to such posts vary from the polite to the patronising.

The DesktopX weather widgets are not working AGAIN. Weather Underground did something to their feed so for the past few days the forcast has been disappearing.

WindowBlinds uses the wrong registry type when enabling/disabling "Apply accent colour to backgrounds (recommended)" under WindowBlinds > Settings.

The registry key in question that is changed:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]

"ColorPrevalence"

The type of this key should be a REG_DWORD with a value of 0x00000000 (0) or 0x00000001 (1), but WindowBlinds changes this registry key to the REG_SZ type with a value of 0 or 1, dependin...

Microsoft has scheduled its Windows Creators Edition update to tentatively go live next week, and Stardock’s developers have been hard at work getting our software ready to support it. Hi,

I'm new WindowsBlinds, I just bough it today! I'm using Windows 10, with the new Creators Update.

I'd like to use "Modern" (by Danioc & Stardock) as my theme. But what I really need, before a new theme, is to be able to use "Arial Unicode MS Regular" as the System font.

Without WindowsBlinds (or using the "Default theme"), I'm able to change that System font using a third-party tool (but I'm sure this works too). But even if I set all the settings that seem to be related to font...

Hi all... Just installed WB after years of not having it.. love it, but my FireFox Menu bar text isn't showing with any of the styles... Ideas?  There's dashed lines where "File", "Edit", etc... should be, but they appear when cursor hovers over.

If I buy fences will I be able to install it on more than one computer that I own/use?  I suspect the answer is I have to buy a copy for each computer but thought i would ask.

Hey, after the last update of Windows 10, i have had some really strange things happening, Skype and other programs have a strange shift (see image), this means that hovering over the Minimize, maximize and close icons and more, are all shifted off, so you cant press them, and not only that also i see like the blueish color, so you can see how much it has shifted, anyone know how to fix this ?

Hi,

In this version, when I try to create a new fence (win 10) always redirect to the control panel. I just want to create a fence directly without using the control panel of Fences. Is it possible? Is there any problem with the programa in win 10?

I upgraded to Fences 3.x from 2.x because I hoped it would fix my issues as was mentioned in the features: "Use fences on modern, high DPI monitors.".

But perhaps my case is not covered here. So sad. 

 

My case:

Microsoft Surface Book, display 3000x2000, scaling 200% (recommended). Fences works fine on this display alone.

Adding external monitor over mini-HDMI-to-DisplayPort, 1920x1080, scaling 100%.

Hi all, I have an expired OD license and was wondering if it's possible to purchase a new subscription to OD (cheaper with a sale) rather than renewing. If it is, does my account just add another subscription license or does my existing license get updated?
