Microsoft need to get serious about making Operating systems in the future and needs to give me at least 1 good reason to switch from Win 7 which is the best Operating system I've used to something new. With Win 8 I have nothing but reasons NOT to switch. Get serious people.

I just purchased DeskScapes v3.5 in December last year (2012) and i want to ask if i will have to pay again for the final version of DeskScapes v8

I run Windows 8 right now with Start8 and Decor8

I also have Cursor and WindowFX.

I don't use WindowBlinds right now, since is not compatible with W8.

Now that I decided to change the look of my desktop and after a long time of using the same skin, I found that with many of the new skins I am having a problem with the right click in Total Commander.

To ilustrate my problem, here are these screenshots, first with one that works with no problems.

Over the last couple of weeks we have had some negative drama on WinCustomize. The weather widget alone has caused a ton of frustration alone, so I wanted to do something to bring some positive vibes to WC, and to show that we are a community.

Since the economy is in a bad situation, I know we have many members on WC who have been hit with very hard times. Trying to help someone who has lost a job for instance can be difficult, but I do know things like hobbies and friends...

Well......I finally get my laptop all cleaned up and running good as new. So this morning before leaving my apartment I packed up all my stuff to take to Crossroads for uninterrupted online time, can't rely on the hotspot at home. Hook everything up and my external HDD died! Not working at all. This is getting ridiculous. Its only about two years old. I wouldn't mind too much but all my backups are on it plus skins I'm working on. I disconnected from the laptop, pressed the switch on...

I have been struggling with trying to install DesktopX after a recent rebuild of my Win7 Pro system. I have tried from both the Stardock Central app and the downloaded installer from my account. I have tried both the regular and the professional version (I have purchased the professional, and have OD.) Everytime I try to install it says the serial number isn't correct. (I have even tried swapping them up to see if maybe the stored serial numbers were wrong, you know pro and regular!)

Am I the only one that's lost all my docks after a reboot once in a while?
It happened on XP, Win7 and still on Win8 where after months of it working one day when I reboot I've lost all my personal docks.

The software lacks a backup option, so as of today I won't be using StarDock software ever again or buying Fences which I was considering next.

Okay people, so I get a newsletter from an online shopping establishment I've done business with in the past, and this just grabbed my immediate attention... a pen device that turns your regular Windows 8 notebook into a 'Touch' screen device. I'm experimenting with hybrid dreams. I think they have an enormous potential to create really awesome live wallpapers.

But the documentation is a bit scarse. I've read the HybridDreamFormat.pdf, but it doesn't explain everything, so I still have a few questions:

Back when ObjectDock Plus came out a function was included to be able to do Areo Peek on running tasks. I was able to set it and use it with no problems. Then I got a new computer and downloaded all of the Stardock software that I had onto it. Ever since then I have not been able to get it working.

Hi! I tried moving a fence to another page by dragging it to the left or right edge of the screen and no matter how long I hold it on the edge the page does not flip. I can do it with a file but not with a fence.

Hi there,

The last release for ObjectDock (v.2.0) was released in 2010: has all development stopped on it? Or can we expect an update, and if so, since folk have been ever so patient in waiting so long, how about giving us an approximate date for the next release?

Sure wouldn't mind seeing it tweaked and tuned for Windows 8. One such request would be for it to have an optional setting that if checked would bypass the Modern/Metro start screen and land us squarely on the D...

This via Reuters. MS stated that no customer info was compromised.

A small number of computers were compromised, and the attack was similar to those at Apple and Facebook.
