WindowBlinds for Win8 - when?

Is there official word on the development?

My long overdue departure.

3 months ago I started in a new job as a delivery/courier driver, and it has kept me way too busy to keep track of anything going on in the world of skinning.
On average 12-15 hour work days leaves me with very little time, if any at all, for PC'ing. This has though given me plenty of time to reflect on the 1½ decade of my life that I have dedicated to skinning, and I've come to the conclusion that it is time for this old 'skinosaur' to finally and definitively call it qu...

Need help with getting the Aero Peek function working in ObjectDock

Hoping someone from the community can lend a hand here.

Back when ObjectDock Plus came out a function was included to be able to do Areo Peek on running tasks.  I was able to set it and use it with no problems.  Then I got a new computer and downloaded all of the Stardock software that I had onto it.  Ever since then I have not been able to get it working.

This morning I thought I would give it a try again, unfortunately nothing I did helped.  I finally decided to...

The Intelligence Center of computer security firm Mandiant has identified the majority of highly sophisticated attacks on the U.S. to have originated by 4 networks in a bland, twelve story building in Shanghai which houses (allegedly) a super secret cyber warfare unit of China’s Army.

“Highlights of the report include:

Evidence linking APT1 to China’s 2nd Bureau of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) General Staff Department’s (GSD) 3rd Department (Mi...

DeskScapes8 Beta causes Fences2 to lock icons

0

Greetings,

OS: Win8 Pro with Fences2 installed

Interesting behavior I have been seeing.  If I install DeskScapes8 Beta, the icons already in place in Fences2 will lock... meaning they cannot be moved.. or the fences themselves.  I get a slash circle mouse icon when attempting to move any of the icons.

Issue is resolved if DeskScapes8 Beta is removed and system restarted.

Registry entries for explorer don't seem to have any effect on icon state.

Objectdock Plus 2 Config Screen not loading

When I first purchased OD+2 the configurations screen with all the settings was showing and working just fine but now when I right click taskbar Icon and then click 'Configure Objectdock...' I get nothing at all. The busy icon on my cursor is on for like a second and then nothing at all.

I can add to the dock but can't get to the main settings screen as it doesn't show, no matter what I have tried.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, also using ccleaner to clear any re...

Hybrid grid solar arrays are tougher than they seem

So I have a 20KW solar array. Love it.  But it has one big problem for me that is surprisingly hard/expensive to solve: If the grid power goes off, so does the solar array.

That’s because the solar array feeds into the grid with me taking what I need first.  But if the grid isn’t up, the solar array has to shut down because it is no longer connected to the “circuit”.  Besides that, you wouldn’t want to run your house where the power could go on and off randomly based on cloud...

WINDOWS 8

The aero option is still available in this just-released build. But the 'intel' is it won't be in any further beta (if there is one) and not in the

RTM and retail versions. That means, as far as I'm concerned, WinBlinds is back in the loop (I lived without it on WN7.) I like aero - turn it

off and you'll see what I mean. Bland. There will be many, especially those using Metro on phones and pads, who won't want it.  I can see

the reason for that. A flat look ...

OD Subscription not showing up

I just renewed my Object Desktop subscription after being inactive for a year. When I log in to Stardock Central, the subscription doesn't show up. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks.

Object Desktop

I'm writing this post, to find out who would like *Object Desktop*.  As some of you know, I won that in the GUI Olympics...but as I still have XP ... I can see no reason to keep the Object Desktop.  I already had bought Windowblinds, and Fences. To use the rest one needs either a faster pc and/ or Windows7 up.  Ok, so that is why I am writing this.

Thanks, in advance! tbc

Actually send me a pm...probably would be the best way!

So the computer finally is showing it's age

It's taken me awhile to start this thread, sorry. I know this may end up in flame wars. Again I am sorry.

So everyone knows my situation. Well those close to me on this site do. My computer is finally showing signs of how old it truly is. Keep in mind my computer has a Pentium 4 processor so I am guessing this setup to be almost ten years old. The problem, even after a few friends helped me here with a new hard drive and more memory, is the rest of the system. The processor can't keep...

Animated Wallpapers for Windows 8 with DeskScapes 8

Animated wallpapers on the Windows desktop made their debut several years ago, with the original version of DeskScapes and Windows Vista Ultimate. Microsoft removed the option with Windows 7, users could continue to use Stardock DeskScapes to bring animated wallpapers (AKA Dreams) to the PC.

With Windows 8’s availability, Stardock has DeskScapes 8 (beta) available to get those animated wallpapers back on your desktop. DeskScapes does much more than that, as you can add over 40 effects to y...

Hi folks, being sending you a pile of hugs from Norther Ireland where I am to stay almost for a month for the biz. Although after 14 days I am going home for a week and than back, so it is bearable. Or has to. As you know Magdalene (wife) gave birth to Mathew 6 wks ago plus minus so it will be more difficult for her to look after two kids daily, but she does not have a plenty of choices, right? That makes me unhappy but sometimes we are forced to take the things as they are.

I would like to t...
