I just updated my W10 to version (10586.th2_release_sec.160328-1908 and now the Task bar start button will not longer change no matter what style I use.

Before someone asked the" always use the OS start button rather than the style" is not ticked.

Any ideas what is wrong?

So life just keeps happening,  while I was making other plans....

January a neighbor of mine passed away,  I wish she hadn't done that as her and I were getting comfortable in each other's company,  even laughing together..It seems like every single time I make a friend,  they die a year or two later...

February my beloved,  funny face fur baby died suddenly.  It was hell.

Cocoa was a Yorky/Poodle/ Llasa Apso mix.  A Yorky face,  cu...

Feeling sad today. My best buddy in the world, Spanky, died this morning at 6:30 AM. He apparently had a heart attack.
He was a good dog. I miss him already.
We were close. He loved me and showed it. Life will go on, but it'll never be the same......

WindowBlinds with Classic Shell

As already was posted in this closed thread: http://forums.stardock.com/453109/page/1/, there is a problem with WindowBlinds and Classic Shell start menu font color: start menu items font color appear dark in many WB skins, so with the usual Classic Shell start menu skins which are dark too, it's hard to read the menu items. From what I was able understand, it seem WindowBlinds controls the font color of Classic Shell start menu items from here: Normal Toolbars -> Button -> Text tab -&...

Sorry to relay this to you folks.

Apparently his body was discovered at his home in Minnesota early this morning.

He had to cancel a few shows recently…the latest because of the “flu”.

He sold more than 100 million records in his career, 7 Grammys…who’ll forget “Purple Rain” or “While my Guitar Gently Weeps” in 2004?

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, was married twice.

Anyway, sorry to be ...

Decryptor Tools for Ransomware

The Windows Club has published a pretty extensive list of tools to help you if you get zapped. First of all, it’ll probably be Petya or Locky as they’re the most common ones encountered currently. First you have to identify the malware. You upload the ransom note or a file which has been encrypted by the malware (and hope it identifies the malware) here: https://id-ransomware.malwarehunterteam.com/index.php

There’s a great list of the tools here: http://www.thewind...

“Support for Windows 7 and 8.1 on certain Skylake PCs will now continue until July 17, 2018, a one-year extension from the original deadline. After that date, Microsoft and its computer-making partners will not guarantee that they will revise device drivers to support those editions of Windows on newer hardware.” – Computerworld

They’ve also retreated regarding critical security updates: They will receive ALL updates through their January 2020 and January 2023 retirement dat...

High DPI issues

I have a high DPI monitor, and Fences doesn't seem to handle it well. It uses the Windows font scaling attributes sometimes, but not always; setup windows are horribly tiny, Fence captions are mixed (some enlarged as they should be, some not).

In this screenshot, notice how one portal has tiny letters and one is normal.

Any chance Fences will be fixed for high DPI monitors?

Commenting on Skins

Why can I no longer post any comments on skins? I would like to thank the artists who create these wonderful skins free of charge. I have the area to post a comment but after writing one and hitting the post button absolutely nothing happens. This has been going on for a while now. I do have an active Stardock account and I am a paid user of Object Desktop Ultimate.

The new Federal Reserve - Zero Day Vulnerabilities.

Not a big surprise, but yes, the FBI has a vault of “Zero Day” vulnerabilities, and so do other agencies, and not just in the US.

This is exactly the opposite of how things “should” be…ideally a vulnerability is found, a patch or fix is created and then published so everyone is a bit safer. This vault of vulnerabilities works exactly the opposite, and everyone is, therefore, a bit less secure.

The Tor penetration is an example of this: The browser is Firefox based and was c...

Changing Text Colors for Taskbar Toolbar Names

I bought the new Dark Elegant by adni18.  I'm really liking Start10 with Windowblinds10.   Thank you, Stardock and Artists, for keeping OS Customization alive.

I have a question though.  In this theme the taskbar is dark and although other text is light taskbar toolbar names are also dark and thus unreadable.

I use taskbar toolbars so... how do I get this changed?  Is there a modify WB setting I can change?

I poked around there a little...

Is Icon Packer included in Object Desktop?

I 'thought' it came with Object Desktop but, like other's have found that the 5.10 version didn't work in 10.

So, somehow - and for what reason I can't recall, I downloaded a 'public' version which works without any problem.

Is it possible to register the packager that works as part of Object Desktop or do I have to buy it 'again' if I want Icon

Packager that works?

April 25, 1915…the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed at Gallipoli to fight against the Turks, allies of the Germans, in WWI.

They waged an eight month fight, and ultimately lost, but they established a tradition of being part of the fight despite the deaths of 8,700 Australians and 2,700 New Zealanders…theirsacrifices were not for naught.

This tradition and spirit were rallying cries in WWII, when the ANZAC forces fought Rommel in North Africa, and the Ja...

I just saw a report watching nbc news. Its about the laundry pods used to do laundry. They're brightly colored and look like big candies. Ergo...children love candy and these pods are very tempting. Two deaths...several comas... and a few cardiac arrests later doctors say that you should use traditional detergents, make sure the zip lock bags they come in and actually zipped and to keep all detergents out of the reach of children. My question is this......

Why the hell don't the power...
