Add ability to change mouse/key assignment for "Desktop Quick-Hide"

Can you please add an option to change the mouse assignment for the "Desktop Quick-Hide" feature?  I have another application I use that uses the double-click the desktop action.  It would be great if we could customize this assignment (both with a mouse button action and a shortcut key).  This is the main reason I use Fences.  Thank you very much.

Excellent Review of W10 Privacy Tweakers

One of my fave websites (gHacks.net) owner has produced quite an extensive review and comparison of available software to modify W10’s data collection and bad features like Wi-Fi sharing.

It was nice of Martin Bormann to include urls and screenies…as well as a table of comparisons.

All these programs have to be run with “Elevated Status” (as Administrator) or the changes you make won’t be applied.

A very good “take away” is to make a ...

Alan Rickman Passes Away

Alan Rickman passed away this past week.  I loved his work as an actor.  His craft included shakespeare, 'Victorian' England, classic drama, Diehard's villian, two scifi flicks (Galaxy Quest and Dogma), and lastly as Snape at Hogwarts.  By Grapnor's hammer, break a leg in the world to come.

I’m outliving my usefulness

I’m officially a cranky old man.

Everything. Is. Crap.

Sometimes I just feel so much despair because of the sheer incompetence I see with companies with vastly more resources than I do wallow in.  If, for instance, Microsoft can’t write a freaking search algorithm for the Windows store or some high profile game’s trailer looks like it was put together by marketing interns it tells me that my dream of retiring and throwing money to hire people to do the things in the areas I have 2...

Bug: Window error

Windows 10 Pro x64

WindowFX Version 6

The issue that I have is that after some time 30 min - 1 hour, the wobbly windows effect breaks while left clicking on any window to move it, the window disappears and appears again when you let go (to the right position). Apart from that when this occurs, the Windows 10 experience becomes very sluggish and laggy. Both issues go instantly away when disabling WindowsFX.

[Solved] Fences resizes when switching resolution and then back again.

I'm using the latest version of Fences 2.13 and right now my resolution is 5760x1200 however I sometimes switch my output to my home theatre so I can game on a 1920x1080 resolution screen. When I switch to the TV and then back to my monitors fences do not retain their original shape and they are resized.

Is there any way to have a custom fences shape/area for different resolutions? Is there any way to set this statically?

Windows 10, Multiple Monitors Confuses Fences 2.12

Using Windows 10, with 3 monitors. Fences (v 2.12) are configured only on my primary monitor.

Upon returning from a monitor sleep or a screen saver cycle, I log back in and my groups of fences frequently appear partially shifted and span both my primary and one of the other monitors. Recent automatic or manual snapshots fail to restore fences. Sometimes I am able to use much older stored layouts (created when I had 4 monitors) to restore my fences positions.

Additionally, setting up ...

Desktop pages and Windows 10 Virtual Desktops

Hi, any chances you will develop Fences desktop pages "linked" to the Windows 10 Virtual desktop functionality?

Thinking about how would be great to have Fences to create automatically another Windows virtual desktop when you create a desktop page (even viceversa).

Both linked statically, and persistent to reboots. It would be great for productivity!

Thanks for considering this,

Max

[HELP] Fences 2.13 fences missing and icons within.

Hello.

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I have a Windows 8.1 PRO PC with multiple monitors. The other day I noticed that all my fences and their icons were missing. I double clicked on the screen to make sure they weren't hidden and that did not help. I then restored the previous days layout and the fences all returned.

Today, I just noticed the same thing happened again. I tried again to restore a previous snapshot of the desktop, but this time it did not w...

Brave browser–faster, no intrusive ads, and Brendan Eich

Interesting…the guy who invented JavaScript has found (and founded) a new niche (Brave Co.) after the Mozilla disaster.

Ironic, because this browser will show you content with ads stripped out as well as elements designed to track your online behavior…so your security will be MUCH greater. Supposedly though, it will not remove all ads: It’ll leave those actually useful to you. For phones, it will speed things up by a factor of up to four, and up to x14 for laptop...

Why The force awakens is as bad as the prequels

Don't read if you don't like spoilers.

When I first saw the new star wars movie, I had slightly warm feelings towards it, and considered it an ok action movie. But the more time I spent thinking about the film the more negative my opinions on it became. I have now concluded that the movie is as bad as the star wars prequels (most of them at least, episode 1 is probably still worse).

The biggest problems I had with the Star wars prequels are all of the plotholes and the stup...

Is Rey a Super Jedi, Is Finn Force Sensitive?

Rey

How is it that Rey was able to over-power the mighty Kylo Ren during interrogation and defeat him in the end? We could blame the fact Ren was injured at the end but still Rey seems a little over-powered against someone who can stop a laser beam mid flight.

One thing i have learnt about people with over powered abilities is that they are always easily seduced by the dark side to keep that power.

Anyway, back on point: Finn

Finn is able to survive so long again...

Unable to minimise a fence

I've just downloaded Fences and am surprised to discover that I can't minimise a fence. I thought the idea was to declutter my desktop. Yes the fences make it more ordered, but I was hoping to be able to minimise a particular fence that had a lot of shortcuts or folders that I don't use often - similar to a phone desktop where apps are grouped into a folder that pops open when I click it. Is this something you are thinking about? It makes total sense. ie. If a fence was minimised, th...
