SOLVED: blank/white paper icons Win7, after IconPackager uninstallation

So I just uninstalled IconPackager from Impulse and now almost all my icons are blank.
Not my Windows icons but all icons from installed program .exe's.
Shortcuts that are linked to them are also blank eg. on the desktop.
And some icons like .dll and .xml, even PhotoShop .psd's are now displayer as a colored shield like the one from Windows Firewall
Even the ones IP didn't even change before are messed up, like a 'screw you!' revenge after being dumped by the user.
I have the same problem o...

MS did good: “Drive-By” Attack Protection added to SmartScreen Filter

This filter is part of your MS OS as well as IE and Edge. It’s like Google’s SafeBrowsing BUT it has a wider scope, and it works system wide. So, MS has added protection against “drive-by” attacks to the service.

“Drive-by attacks originate often on trusted websites where they are executed through third-party scripts such as advertisement or hacks. If it often the case that they don't require user interaction for execution and that is it enough for the user to visit a website...

During startup desktop icons show initially in original locations before moving to fences

Since a clean reinstall of Win 8.1 x64 Pro and Fences 2.13, during startup many of the desktop icons show initially in the locations they originally installed to, before switching to their proper locations with Fences (ir or out of a fence). Since this never happened before in all the years I've been using Fences (since 1 Pro), I'm wondering: Is there some setting I missed?  Thanks,

CISA now law...and more...

“CISA was meant to allow companies to share information on cyber attacks — including data from private citizens — with other companies and the Department of Homeland Security. Once DHS had all the pertinent details, they could be passed along to the FBI and NSA for further investigation and, potentially, legal action. The thing is, critics saw the bill as way for government agencies to more easily keep tabs on Americans without their knowledge.” – engadget...

I don't know if this is the right thread to jump on, but this morning my desktop fences were ok.  I just uninstalled ESET and reinstalled it, then rebooted, and am using Windows 10, and my entire desktop is BLANK now.  The backup file is showing the last time the desktop was MANUALLY saved was August 2014!  They were there this morning, and now years of shortcuts and desktop icons are all gone - clean screen.  TERROR IN MY EYES!  I sure hope someone can help...

DeskScapes 8.5 is hogging the CPU on Windows 10 as well

I've noticed lately that if I have DeskScapes running, my PC becomes very slow, and task manager says upwards of 90% of the CPU is in use.  As soon as I pause DessScapes, CPU usage drops to 15% or so.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.  Is this a known problem?  Is there a process I can stop that still allows animated wallpaper without killing the CPU?

I realised for centuries that Santa Claus didn't bring all those native Americans in the Americas presents on Christmas eve. Why would he do this if he's not racists.

Hanging delays (Win 7, 10)

I've noticed a couple of similar complaints of Object Dock, slow/hanging & lag. I currently am using Windows 10 but this 'hanging-lag', which comes after launching an app from Object Dock, or attempting to launch an item with Object Dock not responding, like it's writing to itself or something is just not correct.

This lagging started quite a while back with Windows 7 (64bit). I use both a tabbed dock at top of screen and a quick launch dock at screens bottom. Both remain ...

fences basic problem

Hello, I just got a new PC with windows 10 and installed fences 2.13.

Everything was going ok, I reated my fences, hide them with double click, let some of the fences always visible, etc... when sudently, my desktop wallpaper changed and all fences disappeared. I cannot for the life of me get them back without disabling fences (when I do, all the icons show up again).

I was hoping fences created a second desktop but I think it did not, In any case if it did I cannot "click and ...

Sleep mode kills Deskscapes

New Windows 10 install with latest updates.  Starting/restarting computer is fine.  Waking from sleep results in a black desktop, requiring reconfiguring Deskscapes 8.5.

I have uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted and tried both the KLite and Shark codec packs. Deskscapes works perfectly in every case except when waking from sleep.  Can anyone offer advice?   Thanks in advance!

Start8 and Fences: First Apps Installed on New PC

If you follow my posts you might have seen I planned and recently finished my new PC.  Putting together a new PC is a bit of work, at least assembling all the parts together and making sure everything works.  That's only one part of it though, as you also have to install Windows, install all your apps and games, and then get your data moved back.

My new PC doesn't have an optical drive, so I loaded up my Windows 8 ISO onto a USB drive and installed it.  It didn't ta...
