Ok guys, so i just Purchased Obect Desktop.   I thought it was a  application containing all the other utilities( Start10, ShadowsFX, etc) that is mine forever once i buy it.




(Previously in windows 8 i had bought Start8 and that one didn't say it expires)




But as i browsed the forums people were saying it's actually a Subscription?  I don't understand what  it is .  WHy is it a subscription? Isn't it on my computer and doesn't it inc...

The issue that I have is that after some time 30 min - 1 hour, the wobbly windows effect breaks while left clicking on any window to move it, the window disappears and appears again when you let go (to the right position). Apart from that when this occurs, the Windows 10 experience becomes very sluggish and laggy. Both issues go instantly away when disabling WindowsFX.

In Quicklaunch Dock, the caption for the Start Menu stays fixed in the screen, the only way to get rid of it is to restart the Application

So I'm setting up my new computer and installed Fences among the first things I did.  Then created some fences and put the few icons I had into them.  Next I downloaded HitMan Pro and ran that - and all the fences disappeared as well as all the icons.  Double clicking doesn't bring them back.  I have no recycle bin icon any more ...  Now I'm afraid to use Fences for fear something like this will happen again.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but is it possible to have Deskscapes play a folder of video files, cycling through each one as they end?

I have a folder of music videos and I want to play them one after the other (preferably completely at random) and I don't want to have to manually select the next video; ideally a video would end and Deskscapes would move on to the next video in the list.

If this isn't possible in this version is it a feature that might be looked a...

Okay so i just bought the Object Desktop upgrade from standalone and was surprised to see that this was a subscription and not a one time payment for a set of applications. I'm not mad, I'm just now confused as to how this will work. Once my subscription expires, will the programs stop working, making me renew it? Or will i get a set of apps that will continue to work regardless and the subscription is for updates?

Hello stardock,

 

I would like to request a feature called edge snap. Where the windows snap on to the edges of your desktop and that of other windows.

I suppose windowfx is inspired by something like compiz from linux so I suppose having a feature such as edge snap would be quite useful.

 

EDIT: I found a program that does this already and works together with windowfx. It's called WindowSpace for anyone who needs this aswell.

So glad ot ahve WB10 on my desktop finally thanks for all the work getting it out this year.

Not a big deal, and easily remedied but wanted to make note here:

Installed fine but at the end generated a failed activation notice. I ran the software and it showed not activated, so I selected activate with Stardock account. This also failed, even though I an an ODNT subscriber. I had to get my ODNT code and add it manually to the activation screen to proceed.

I'll leave this post up in case anyone else makes the same mistake:  I forgot to disable WindowBlinds 8.

 

I just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.  I then tried to Install Start10 and the alert box asking me to confirm the install has no buttons.  If I hit <enter> it closes the alert.  I tried WB 10 and the same thing happened.  This is not a Stardock problem, I imagine but does anyone know how I can get the buttons back? O...

Hi,

This is my first time posting here, apologies if this is the incorrect area.

I have installed Stardock for Win10 onto a customers PC and am unable to activate it. I have installed over 50 Stardock for Win10 with no issues until now and am hoping I am just missing something

The PC is Win10 with the 1511 update installed. I have tried installing Versions: 1.06, 1.07 & 1.08. The message received is: "There was a problem connecting to the activation server..."
