When you browse the WindowBlinds gallery on WinCustomize or go directly to a WB skin page, do you look for anything that describes what OS the skin will be compatible with?

If so, do you look at the description, or the older Win7 compatible icons (if skinners check that)?

Or, do you not worry about it and just download it and see how it works?

Not holding you or Stardock's feet to the fire on this.  I understand programming and development time. Just looking for a tidbit of info to sate my appetite for WB skinning goodness.

I have used WindowFX since 3.0; I LOVE drop shadows.

WindowFX 5 worked fine in Win8.1 (No shadows, of course.). However Win10 causes two very annoying things for me, even after upgrading to WindowFX 6.

One: there are very long -- one or two seconds -- hesitations after clicking to close windows. Doesn't sound like much but it seems forever.

Two: if I assign an animation to the Start10 window, nothing happens. Start10 still works correctly, except for the animation.

What happened to Global Warming?

When I put my first above ground pool in around the late 90's we were able to open it in April and start swimming in May.

Now my pool is just opened and still not warm enough to swim in

 

I'd like some global warming back...

When I open an explorer window and close it again, somethimes the running icon will stay there for another 5 minutes.

This is not only vissibly annoying, but this also makes me unable to open explorer again because it thinks there already is an instance of explorer open.

Somethimes an emply icon appears for a 'running program'. This is the path to said program: C:\Windows\system32\ApplicationFrameHost.exe

I never opened this program so it must be objectdock picking up a program running in the backgroud as a false foreground program opened by the user.

My system works with Windows 7, Fances was installed with the english language, but my OS is french, and I want to change the language to french.

New Windows 10 install with latest updates.  Starting/restarting computer is fine.  Waking from sleep results in a black desktop, requiring reconfiguring Deskscapes 8.5.

I have uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted and tried both the KLite and Shark codec packs. Deskscapes works perfectly in every case except when waking from sleep.  Can anyone offer advice?   Thanks in advance!

I'm using Fences 2.13 on a laptop, a tablet and an all-in-one.  Windows 10 on all three.  I'm about to set it up on a desktop running Win8, soon to be upgraded to 10.  My configuration is the same on all of these, and it would be so nice to export it on one machine and import it on another.  I've looked for documentation of such a feature but haven't found it.

So…this is something you really want to know, and thanks to Tomer Bitton and Udi Yavo, you can find out for free. The reason you want to find out is that RWX vulnerabilities are the worst…since they allow remote code execution. Also, AVs aren’t the only target. Data Leak Preventers (DLPs) are also. There are 400 million AV users, so…there might be many folks with a false sense of security. Tomer and Udi’s freebie will check any AV you are using for this vulnerability.

When I install Windows 10 Home update I converted from Fences 1.1 to Fences 2.13.

Now after Boot-up, neither the Fences or Icons that weren't in fences appear, until I right click once anywhere on the desktop.

Then they all appear, but still have to do a refresh to have the Icons line-up correctly within the Fences.

 

When I right click on desktop and select view

"Show Desktop Icons"  is checked, "Lock Fences" is checked. "Align Icons to Grid" is also checked.

Bye bye unlimited storage…MS says some users were abusing that. Maybe, maybe not. Define “some”.

I figure it’s really about money…hey, that’s what corporations do. Especially those with crappy smartphones.

So, MS storage had been changed from 15 GB (remember when you’d get 500 mb for each friend you brought in?) to 5 GB free and 15 GB of Camera roll bonus.

Fences is in the Win 10 startup, but I have to run the Configure Fences (right click desktop) app for it to appear.

MS security essentials just detected four hacktool folders - but stopped midstream in quarenteening.  Then hung up system.  Herd protect, Adv Sys Care, and IObits not detect hacktool.  MS website says running its MS Sec Ess will take care ot it.  Does it really?  Suggestions?  Appreciate viable suggestions / experienced help.

1) i understood that with one account i can install the Fences on 5 PCs?

2) when you buying the program do you get upgrades and updates to?

3) i'm using Windows 10 on all my PC's - it will work on this OS?

Hi all,

Everytime I restart my computer (I am running Windows 10) Objectdock does not reload on startup, as it used to. Once I reinstall, all of my icons etc come back exactly as they were. As I love the program, I have reinstalled about 30 times so far, and am getting a bit sick of it!

Any thoughts?

I have noticed that a Skype window, and some other windows, do not show effects of WindowFX unless WindowBlinds is not being used.

Turn off WindowBlinds and the window wobbles, etc. Turn on WB and no effects.

Can this be fixed in WindowBlinds 10?
