Great to see Microsoft release Office 2016 today.................Coming 'hot on the heals' of Windows 10.

I'm one of those that found the light themes rather too bright in 2013 but I got used to it..........but honestly, I really preferred the look of 2010. Looks like I'll have some options for a darker theme in 2016 which is great news.

Hi, since we have windows 7 and 8 now, do the old widgets and gadgets like clocks and weather and media players not work at all anymore? None of the gadgets or widgets I made function on windows 7. Is there a way to get them to work again?

It seems that trial users were positive about the translator preview app released in December 2014, so MS has decided to roll out Skype Translator Magic for Skype Desktop client.

This will be happening in the very near future, and will be phased in over a period of weeks…probably not wanting to get swamped by bugs in multiple languages, with different alphabets as well. When it arrives on your desktop, the messenger will gain an icon in the upper right corner:

I cannot apply a dream by double-clicking on it in Explorer.  However, doing that with the configuration program running sets it as the selected dream but does not apply it without clicking the button.  I can keep double-clicking on drams in Explorer and the configuration program will update the "current" dream.  I ran the Stardock Purge Deskscapes bat and reinstalled but nothing has changed.  Check that, the first dream I choose with a double-click after areboot now is appli...

I have a fence with a bunch of shortcut icons.  Is it possible to hide the shortcut icon text displayed below the icon?  IE:  I know what the program is based off of its icon; I do not need to see its text description.

I opened a ticket but it has been ignored so far so let me try here. I recently purchased the upgrade to Object Desktop as I am a previous subscriber. Clicking on the "renew" button from my account page takes me directly to the checkout process which I completed successfully. I then download the utility that allows me to select and install applications that I have access to. Imagine my surprise when I find that only a few items are actually compatible with Windows 10. Hi,

I have a shortcut in a folder, it is to "c:\program files\blah", its properties are correct and work perfectly from Explorer.

I set up a Dock Menu (Show folder in a menu), when run from the menu it tries to run it from "c:\program files (x86)\blah" and fails. The dialog is created by ObjectDock (it doesn't ask Windows to invoke it).

 

This is on Windows 10 and teh latest Object Doco 2.20.0.862

gHacks published a review of this backup software at the end of September. An excellent review and worth your time if you intend to download the software. Hi,

Fences 2.01 seems to be misplacing icons that are currently inside of a fence and stuffing them onto my desktop every now and then.

 

Most recently I have a fence that holds a bunch of folders for me, so I opened up one of the folders and then closed it, and now instead of that icon being in my "folders fence" where it started out at, it's now sitting on my desktop instead.

My friends frequently post in foreign languages, and the meaning of the text often escapes me. It’s frustrating, because trying to copy the text can be time consuming or, in another alphabet. It’s especially frustrating when the text is part of an image.

On my windows 10 pc deskscape is pushing my WDM.EXE to use a whopping 640+ meg of memory. On my windows 8 with 8.21v it was no were close this amount with the same video / setup...

Hi all

Just joined here as seems like a great place to hang out and learn as well as hopefully be able to help

So here is a problem I can't seem to resolve after weeks of searching as well as experimenting at home. After disabling and uninstalling Cortana, Edge and others as well as Search I ended up with 2 dead icons in the All apps menu one for Search and one for Edge. When I drag the Search icon to the desktop it's named as:
