Hey guys. I have a problem with invisible/black folder backgrounds.My system specs are:Windows 8.1 latest Updates. Asus ROG G751JYi7-4710HQ 16GB RAM GTX 980M256GB SSD1TB HDDWhen I select any theme and preview it, the folders look invisible. To be honest I bought StarDocks software, I am looking at WindowsBlinds it looks very interesting the more I look at it. One thing that has bugged me for a few years now is some software like Microsoft Office, Outlook 2010 to be specific. with windowsBlinds can you control the color of the center section of Outlook 2010 where the emails that come in are listed. I have yet to see anything that I can change the color of that center section. I have a lot more to learn but if Windows Blinds can skin...

Hi!

Like several others I am having the same ODM problem of nothing showing up. Same situation as the user who returned after letting the license lapse. Can you please check my account to see if needs to be refreshed, etc.

I popped open my Chrome bookmark manager today.  I see it's been "improved".  What used to pop up as a reasonably useful little list now popped up as, you guessed it, a screen full of those lovely tiles.  I thought to myself "Don't panic, there's probably a list view," and sure enough I found the setting and thought "Whew" and clicked it. I purchased ObjectDock yesterday. I have Windows 8.1 with Objectdesktop as well. I configure ObjectDock so it will display on monitor 2 and it moves to monitor 2. When I come back later and login, it displays above the taskbar on my primary monitor. I go to settings, Position then to Monitor and it still shows it is set to monitor 2, but it is on the Primary. I have to toggle it to Primary then back to Second to get it to go back. Is this a bug and can a fix be provided so that upon login (or ma...

So…while yesterday’s thread was fun, I came across this article. What bothers me about this is that they’re using Numenta’s AI software because it’s closer to human thinking.

That alone should scare the crap out of you. Would a non-human like AI algorithm/s be better? Is the devil we [don’t] know better than the devil we know even less?

How could one produce a program complex enough to encompass Asimov’s three laws of robotics?

Hi,

just renewed my ObjectDesktop license. I have been off for a year or so. Now, when I launch the "Object Desktop Manager" I get the following error message: "Sorry, unable to setup automatic checks. Please try again. If it fails again, you may run Object Desktop manually to retrieve updates until the issue is resolved."

What does this mean actually? What am I supposed to do?

There's a few apps on the published list for object-desktop apps that I haven't received: objectdock, etc. Also I just discovered my payment is an annual subscription instead of a one-off payment :facepalm:

Is there a refund policy anywhere, as object-dock & theme-manager were two of my main reasons for getting this package (I already had 3 of them as stand-alone).

Done Patching? Nope. 34 new patches to be released soon.

So you thought 21 patches were enough? Think again.

MS is releasing another 34 later today. The majority of patches apply to Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Server 2012.  In fact, there are only five patches for Windows 7 and four for Windows Server 2008 R2 while the remaining patches are all for Windows 8 or later on the client side and Windows Server 2012 or later on the server side.

Hi,

 

For a month now (after a Start 8 or Fences update maybe), my Windows 8.1 Dell XPS 21 takes several minutes before I can interact with the desktop. The cusrosr displays a spinning wheel and clicking anywhere is unresponsive.

The same thing happen (spinning wheel and no interaction with desktop or menu bar for a few minutes) if I plug or unplug my secondary monitor.

 

Uninstalling Fences resolves the issue. Re-installing Fences bring back the problem...

It just started today, I'm unable to quote another post in the GC3 forums.  The quote button is there, but clicking on it does nothing.  In case it matters, I'm using the Pale Moon browser, which is a cut down version of Firefox.

Edit: Ah, never mind.  It started working again right after I made this post.  No idea what happened.

So this weekend I had to take my boat out of the water. In the process I had to wade into water that was up to my waste. Unfortunately, my iPhone was in my pocket.
