Turns out a clever hacker (Clrokr) has been running W8 software on A Surface and an RT OS.

MS has described RT as “Similar to W8”. As it turns out, the hacker states they are the same OS only that MS has made RT unable to run W8 software apps. Clrokr has “undisabled” that.

It probably isn’t the best of the alternatives, but it’s a $30 value free today only.

One big minus with XYPlorer is the inability to get 2 panes for dragging and dropping.

Remember: Make a restore point, don’t install it if you don’t need it, do some research and choose “Advanced” set up to avoid any tool bars, etc.

It's taken me awhile to start this thread, sorry. I know this may end up in flame wars. Again I am sorry.

So everyone knows my situation. Well those close to me on this site do. My computer is finally showing signs of how old it truly is. Keep in mind my computer has a Pentium 4 processor so I am guessing this setup to be almost ten years old. The problem, even after a few friends helped me here with a new hard drive and more memory, is the rest of the system. The processor can't keep...

I am returning to Desktopx and have begun using it again.  Right now I am modifying a DesktopX Theme to suit my own personal computer setup.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Overall things are working but I can't get DesktopX to default start in Builder Mode.  I have used the Configure DesktopX Builder menu and set the toggle to load DesktopX on startup but that fails now.

I have for now created a shortcut to the DesktopX Theme file I want to run and placed it in the S...

a request that turns out to be fun...real FUN! 
with no restrictions and this time im even allowed to share it   (when im not lazy and im done)
requested have been icons only have 2 atm... the other 2 are not presentable yet... meaning they r buttugly haha
I squeeezed everthing into one picture the actual size of each part/thing is 1500x1500 or above lol...

Stardock central shows that my subscriptions to objectdock and wincustomize are expired.  subsequently I am not eligible for discount when making a purchase.  The subscription status is definitely in error.  What is going on here?  Stardock has not responded to my email for help.

DIFFERENT DESKTOPX 1

I still use Stardock's DesktopX. I play with it a lot (stop sniggering RND ).
DesktopX is *my* go-to creative hobby - I'm not well equipped to be a skinner or a graphical artist.

I've attempted lots of little projects with it, and I suddenly feel like making a few posts images/videos and descriptions on what I did with it over the past 12 years. Maybe it will be interesting...

Seems like MSE is not performing like a lot of people expect...........now failed AV Test Certs two months on the trot........not good. Read here:-

Running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

 

Fences will not load until I enter the fences config menu, at which point they appear. Until I do that, scrolling over my fence will not yield any results.

 

My fence is set to be invisible unless scrolled over, if that matters.

I do a lot with photoshop and all my PSD files reverted back to the stock default icon.

 

Any idea how I can get these back?  yeah, from my recipe folder   i have hundreds more, yeah seriously...

I still get this alot about why some skins come down as .ZIP instead of .WBA so I decided to be of a little assistance.



If using Internet Explorer you should Change the file-extension from .ZIP to .WBA, but FIRST You have to go to -

Controlpanel / FolderOptions / View-tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" -checkbox.

THEN you will see the extensions such as Zip, Rar, Wba etc and then you can change the files name from .ZIP to .WBA
