If (as happened to Uvah) your laptop or your PC has been stolen or even misplaced (in someone else’s apartment), while it’s not as easy as on an Apple OS device, it’s still possible.

All these methods depend on the thief’s greed. If he/she decides to check (or deface) your facebook, gmail or Dropbox accounts, there’s a good chance you can trace your property’s IP address.

That doesn’t mean you can find its physical address easily, but the Police can. You or they can obtain ...

Hi there!

I love all my windows to be semi-transparent when starting up, and I constantly have to set the transparency for each and every window that starts up, which slow me down. In Actual Transparent Windows, they allow you to do this, but my loyalty's with Stardock.

Therefore, I was wondering if you could add this feature to startup with a certain transparency already set. Then, I can go ahead and make them more or less transparent if I wish?

British musician Jack Bruce, best known as the bassist from the 1960s group Cream, has died. He was 71.

Publicist Claire Singers said Saturday Bruce died at his home in Suffolk, England.

I'm trying out the additional menu icons for the first time. I need them to closely emulate the default windows 8 menus as closely as possible and have run into an issue. The "states" aren't showing correctly (or as directed in the help section of sks). Only the radio box shows. Not the check boxes.

 

The issue is illustrated here in this screeny:

hello everyone just a quick question is wincustomize under maintenance or something like that because I just updated my skin on 10/23 as everyone was waiting for for my updates but when I uploaded it wincustomize has failed to post my skin LCARS REFIT as updated plus never received any confirmation notice in my email on my new update anyone have any ideas whats up because even if I uploaded my updated skin no one knows about it also my profile hasn't changed either it keeps saying last seen ...

HI All

 

I first had Windows Blinds when I had Windows 95 (or 98) and wanted to make it look like XP that I couldn't afford at the time.

I have just bought this Software again on my New Dell 3537 Laptop (8gb ram, intel Celeron dual core, 320gb, 15inch). Had windows 8.1 and downgraded it after 8 months to windows 7, just not keen on Large tiles any more, even bought start 8, perhaps windows 10 will be better.

 

Currently work in IT on a lot of different kit, but just ...

Hi,

I am currently testing the 30 day version of ObjectDock and really appreciate this little tool. I am only using the Quicklaunch bar on my bottom screen border and I was wondering if a function of the tool exists that deactivates the pop-up of the bar if a certain program is running. 

The reason for this is, every now and then I play a round of Age of Empires 3 and everytime i move the in-game mouse too far to the bottom, AoE 3 minimizes and the Quicklaunch bar pops up. In a stress...

I'm sure that this has been answered somewhere but I can't find it.  Can someone tell me how to disable the native taskbar in Win 8.1 so that I can use Objectdock as a a launcher exclusively, or even if this is possible?  I think I read somewhere that it is but I can't figure out how to do it.  Thanks!

I just updated to Firefox 33.0 and now the titlebar is transparent (I can see a blurry desktop through it) and there are no more close/maximize/minimize buttons.

 

Tried restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled and the problem persists.

 

Using WindowBlinds 8.06 on Windows 7 64-Bit Professional.

 

Edit: kruglovmaxim has posted a clever temporary fix below.

Yeah, I know there's no reason to believe Fences will work on a technical preview. But it DOES work. But since the upgrade to build 9860, it is occasionally crashing. Okay, not crashing, but disabling itself saying something about protecting my safety because of an error in explorer.

Thinking it's a problem with explorer.exe or perhaps my PC has just become desperately in need of an OS reinstall. Curious if anyone else is seeing something similar.

Can i link in theme description to ported gtk version?

Hi,

its possible for me to do dual plattform themes with reasonable amount of time ( gtk+ and wba).

Am i allowed to link my own ported gtk themes in the description from window blinds ???

NOTE: The gtk code is very much different and only the design is nearly the same. Do delete all possible traces to original  .wba files.

Today I read an Opinion Piece on Polygon called “No Skin thick enough: The daily harassment of women in the game industry”  It’s a good piece and one I think you should read....
