Hey all, 

 

I have a weird Problem with any window blinds skin, those that come with it included.

See for yourself:

 



 

As you can see the standard System font is not how it should be and this font is being used for all skins except the default windows theme.

This includes the right click menu.

I tried changing it in the configuration but no joy.

Any thoughts?

I noticed theres an update for window blinds.

Hi.  I'm running OpbjectDock 2.10.0.811 on Win7 X64.  It's been running fine since I first installed a couple of years back.  My system had to restart due to some Windows updates, and it blue screened.  I cycled the power and started normally.  The only difference I can see is that my docks are gone and not under the setup window.  I image backup my machine every night so I was wondering if you could tell me what files/directories I could look to restore to ...

Folders area background.

This has been requested many times & an update for this is long overdue.

The work by Stardock custumization team is awesome, but this has been overlooked for too long.

Neil Banfield mentioned Folders area background is a tricky part, but surely there's a solution by now.

 

-Creating a theme is severely hindered if you want a transparent feel to the windows as this part can only be skinned with a 100% Opaque color with NO option for an ima...

This week we released a new customization app called ShadowFX.  This allows you to add customizable drop shadows to windows in Windows 8.  The ShadowFX gallery on WinCustomize is now open, so people can now create their own shadows and share with others to download and use.

I will have an article up soon on how to create a shadow, but it’s actually very simple.  It’s just the graphic files and editing the theme.sfx file.  Take a look at the default shadow in the ShadowFX...

My desktop has 3 monitors with lots and lots of windows.  On Windows 8, it gets really fatiguing picking out the active window.  That’s because Windows 8, unlike Windows 7, doesn’t have shadows.  It’s one of my biggest pet peeves with Windows 8 visually.

This wasn’t a problem with Windows 7 because each window had its own drop shadow which changed based on what was the active window. As a result, at a glance, you could pick out the active window.

I have noticed that when I wake up my laptop after sleep (close lid), I have lost the background color and hotlink color in some dialogs. Here is a screeny of the issue:



On the left is what it should (and does) look like on fresh apply of the skin. On the right is after waking up from sleep.

This might help some folks caring for elderly parents…

You’d think that eating is a simple thing: Money + food store + cooking (optional) and there you are, right?

Not for some.

The developer is an engineer whose mom has a tremor. He was engaged by the DoD to create more stable rifles to increase marksmanship (I suppose), and a light went off in his head.He started working on a spoon to cancel tremors. After all, cameras have this, especially Hollywood movie cams....

I recently reinstalled Fences 2.13 on a new computer. I have been using it for quite a while. With this install, I am now unable to open folders that are located in the Fence Folder Portals. I can open them by right clicking and selecting open, but double clicking does nothing. Files in the folder portals open without issue when double clicked. I've searched for settings for this and I've been unable to find any that would impact this.

I just want to thank all for all you have helped me with without sarcasm or condemnation of any type other forums have treated me like a total idiot but not here thank's. IMO I would say windows 8 is worse than Vista because it doesn't get the fundamentals right. Vista was actually good once you got all the patches, but unless Microsoft removes the Metro interface, windows 8 will never achieve the vast improvement that vista experienced.

Thoughts?

So, my laptop boots relatively quickly -- the desktop appears after about eight seconds, and I can immediately click icons to open programs or browsers.  However, the ObjectDock doesn't appear for another 12 seconds.  So, if I want to use Objectdock instead of desktop icons, right now I basically more than double my boot time.  Is there a setting I'm missing to make the dock load immediately with the desktop?
