Looking for a little help here. I have a friend with a laptop that seems to be pretty virus ridden. I've been able to get some out, but can't seem to access the actual Windows "Uninstall A Program" I can get into the control panel just fine but launching the "Uninstall a Program" never does anything. Extremely slow perfomance on Windows 8.1u1 and WB 8.04

I just migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 update 1 Pro x64 (fresh install) and installed windowsblind 8.04. After restarting the PC it was extremely slow.
A comparison with windowsblind disabled and enabled (Process: time WB disabled -> time WB enabled)
Boot time (from windows load animation to desktop) : 15 sec -> 2minStartup programs starts (after entering the desktop to it is usable, with all programs loaded): 15sec -> 1.5minFirefox: 1sec -> 55sec (every ...![]()

Cannot use any cursor except the CursorFX Default [Solved]
I have used CursorFX for many years, but stopped last year after the problems windows 8 brought with compatibility. I tried again a few months ago but had a problem that no matter what theme i tried to apply it would not change from the default cursor that you get after installation. I could not seem to get it to work with any of the themes that come packaged or with any i downloaded from WinCustomize. So I uninstalled again.

The "I like Windows 8 (and why)" Thread for people who like Windows 8
So, since a lot of posts around here are complaining about Metro / the new Windows 8 style I figured that I'd make a thread for people who actually appreciate the new things with Windows 8 (and don't say that it's terrible because of metro).

MS Security Advisory on IE Exploit
A weekend blog post from MS about this. Not common at all.
This exploit would allow remote code execution if one visits an affected website, after browser compromise through email or even IM.
IE 10 and 11 are protected from this if they have “Enhanced Protection Mode” turned on. You are also protected if you have EMET 4.1 or 5.0 Tech Preview installed.

Hi all,
I have a perfectly fine Asus 3D monitor in 1080P 120 hz etc, but I am thinking of buying one of those IPS's panels everyone talks so highly about though they only run @ 60 Mhz.
Can someone be kind and update there dreams to support that resolution. - A .dream like Asteroids by Master Baron would look pretty sweet with true 8-bit colors and a wide cinema display.
Well I hope others will support this thread, as 2560x1080 and 2560x1440 etc is getting mo...![]()

How To Create Dreams
Hello.. I just purchased DeskScapes 8 for my Win8.1 custom PC, but I notice there's barely any dreams that are high resolution.. So I got the thought that maybe I should create my own. I came to the forum to see how this might be done, but I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
