Microsoft Owns 100's of Key Android Patents

Well it seems Microsoft knows no bounds when stacking the odds in its favour.  The UK Register reports that Microsoft is claiming to hold hundreds of Android patents, so could it in fact pose problems for Android device manufacturers, not to mention Google.  According to one commenter, Microsoft owns around 200 patents essential to the manufacture of Android smartphones, so there is a potential for conflict should MS decide to revoke usage of the patents outside of its own sphere of co...

I had an interesting issue yesterday on my system.  I often work on two computers and use Windows Remote Desktop to access the second one without having to switch peripherals. Yesterday I was constantly having to transfer files from one computer to the other. I decided to try and make a shortcut to the networked drive on the desktop of the machine that has fences. The shortcut seemed fine until I decided to change its name... As soon as the name was changed, Windows explorer locked up, and ...

Yup, my fave show on TV is back today and I'm champing at the bit... to hear the haunting theme music will be like heaven on a stick.

So who else is champing at the bit for GoT to start?

Also, any ideas on who will likely rise like cream to the top to seriously challenge for the iron throne?

And what about the white walkers?  How will they be defeated before they conqeuer the North and beyond, and by whom?

My bet is on the dragon lady, Daenerys Targaryen, to over...

Do you hate reinstalling windows because of the updating process? Especially if you’re not on a super fast connection?

“Slipstreaming is a method in which you integrate software updates with the original installation media.” – Lifehacker

This is even for those who have fast connections and who really don’t need the hassle:

Office 365 does not work

Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. We recently installed 32bit Office 365.

We can't get any of the Office 365 programs to launch from ObjectDock. We have even tried creating a junction to the "Program Files" directory to avoid the "Program Files (x86)" issue that ObjectDock has suffered from forever.

How can we put our new Office apps onto our ObjectDock?

So who has been keeping up with this?

As some of you know, the concept for the family tree in War of Magic was inspired by this series. Great series of books.

I have Adobe Reader installed and in Windows Explorer the displayed icon for .pdf files is the package default icon with a tiny overlay of the Adobe icon.  No matter what I've done (rebuild, repair, re-apply, reboot) changing the icon via the properties dialog fails to work - keeps the default background icon with tiny overlay of the default Adobe icon in the center.  No similar overlay problems with any other file icons.

Anyone know a trick to get an Adobe .pdf icon change to s...
