Stardock has released the v1.11 beta update for ModernMix today.  This beta is available for current ModernMix customers and subscribers of Object Desktop. 

This build includes bug fixes for various issues, particularly with the Windows 8.1 RTM.

All versions of IE (IE6-IE11) are vulnerable to a remote code execution which works through a memory corruption bug. Attacks have been reported, so this isn’t a ‘theoretical’ thing. The reported attacks are using attacks on IE8 and IE9. The source for this is http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/advisory/2887505 :

I have been testing a lot of Win 8 PC's lately and I always install Start8 and when I format and reinstall Windows I thought it would have known I had already activated Start8 previously, but it now says I have activated it too many times, can I have it reset?

What happened to Global Warming?

When I put my first above ground pool in around the late 90's we were able to open it in April and start swimming in May.

Now my pool is just opened and still not warm enough to swim in

 

I'd like some global warming back...

Hello all, I'm just getting a new laptop in the next couple of days or hours, which will be running Windows 8 (I hope I can figure it out! A windows 7 user here...) and which will have a 1000gig HDD and a 128 SSD. The OS should be on the SSD. But my main question is: Where should I install most of the programs?

In other words -- I'll use the HDD for storing data, such as documents and photos, but what about the applications themselves? Will the 128 SSD be enough to have most of my p...

Been slacking a bit as of late on the ol' WB production...

I thought I might explain why... I have been working for a few Music Software companies designing new interfaces for their upcoming software plugins and libraries.

Hi all,

I was testing out the trial version of Windowblinds ( 8.01 ). While using Visual Studio 2010 and typing some text in its editor everytime I press the 'd' key the window restores and maximizes right away. Seems like pressing the 'd' key while using Windowblinds and Visual Studio together causes Windows key + 'd' to be fired twice or so I am guessing. Is there a way to fix that. I don't think I will buy the software if it doesn't work with my most used so...

Hi,

 

I've bought Fences and Deskscape.

 

The activation of Deskscape was ok.

But regarding the activation of Fences, the system doesn't recognize my account, my email or my activation code.

 

I created a helpdesk ticket and no answer until now.

I've had Fences 2 installed for a while (since the initial v2.0 release) and it has mostly been working fine with no crashes or anything like that. I am using Windows 8 Pro 64-bit along with Start8, Decor8 and WindowsFX 5.1. I have five fences for different groups of desktop icons and two folder portals for my games shortcuts.

I've noticed that after a certain length of time that the folder portals will flicker on and off as I mouse over it or attempt to double-click the icons to open...

Im working on this for about 3-4 days now mostly on evening hours
I used the screenshot upload to show the w.i.p. since i had some trouble with third party image uploads if this is not the correct way to make use of the screenshot upload i apologize in advance.
I hope someone will give me some feedback - im also open minded for critic.

I need some Comodo help here .

 

A few weeks ago, someone mentioned using Ice Dragon as a new browser. Because I am always looking for a better browser, I downloaded it.

 

The issue is that it seems like Comodo is insidious (I had to delete it a few years ago for similar reasons). The invasive measures are twofold:

1) It gives me no choice over my search engine. If I type a search term in the omnibar that it does not recognize, it brings up a DNS error and other terms. I...

I have been looking for a way to get the forums to display more posts per page, but I do not think that there's an option to do this?

 

It's totally different than the other forums (ex: vBulletin) in this regard.

Hi guys. Just wanted to see if anyone out there has had bariatric surgery and if so, do you have anything you'd like to share?

Upgraded to Windows 8.1. I have tried both the original and Beta version of Deskscapes. I used to use Sharks007 codec pack, and have now tried Klite, windows 8 codec and a few others. My issue is that most dreams work well, but there are a few, particularly dreams by "Cha-ninja" that when I click on them in the deskscapes config window, the app will crash.
