SAN DIEGO - Pandit Ravi Shankar, the best known contemporary Indian musician, died Tuesday evening in San Diego, Calif. He was 92.
The sitar star's website announced his death. "Shankar had suffered from upper-respiratory and heart issues over the past year and underwent heart-valve replacement surgery last Thursday. Though the surgery was successful, recovery proved too difficult for the 92-year-old musician."![]()

About some simple help!!!!!
Hi,, I am new to desktopX........
I am triying to make a sidebar gadget like of win7......
so when i click on one object in main panel it mus show the other object like popup....I did that using "RomanDA" tutorials but when i open the gadget it also popups all the sub widets in that,,,,it must be hideen while i start up and after clicking it must popup then again if i click it mus hide,,,,

Button "Show my desktop" does not work with modal window in Windows 7 64bit SP1, Fences 2.0
If there is a modal window opened in an application it is impossible to hide all windows (Win+D or right button in task panel). Thus it is impossible to use Fences 2 ((
If I turn off Fences 2 and restart Windows it is working properly (showing desktop with modal window).

Greetings,
I was wondering whether there's a way in SoundPackager or in Windows 7 itself, or maybe in some third-party program, to define custom sound events. Specifically, I want to play a given sound (for those curious, the "Connecting..." soundbite from EVE Online) upon connecting a network, but not at other times, as the "System Notification" event would have me do.
Is there a way to achieve this?

Initally Setup problems
Okay so i bought Sins of a solar empire a while back on one of my older computers. Recently i got a brand new laptop and felt like playing it again, but after i download the game and put in all my account information in the Stardock Account Registration window when i click register it just lights up then nothing. ODP is very slow at startup
It takes most of the loading time after boot....my system (win7, intel i7, 16gb RAM) loads up very fast, but at the moment it hits the desktop ODP takes around 30-40sec to load up which seems a little bit too much considering the nature of the application. It's frankly a little bit of a PITA
I have no special docklets loaded, no network links....just a lot of icons from all over the system in one tabbed dock. and other dock with disk drives and common folders.

Frustrated
I recently got a new computer and the first game I put on there was Sins of a Solar Empire. I play the game and it is just like I remember it and everything. But, I decide to check for updates and Gamestop asks me to go through all these account updates and whatnot. But I eventually update my game. I go to play it and it asks me to register again but it won't let me submit my registration for the game I've owned since before diplomacy. Is the time right for a Community Skinning Project?
Hi ya folks
It has been awhile since the last Community Project, so being the glutton for punishment that I so love being, I volunteer to start one.
Since I am not a skinner this part is really easy. The hard part is coming up with an idea, some graphics or a theme like a WindowBlinds that the rest of the community skinners can use to make additional themed skins.
So if you have some thoughts for a theme lets see them. Now this is not a contest to see wh...![]()

Lots of UAC promts, explorer crashes, and finally Fences has stopped working completely
Hey folks, having a ton of issues with Fences 2.
I upgraded from old Fences and at first things seemed fine. But when I played a videogame that changed my resolution, exiting out of it again caused my desktop (explorer.exe) to crash and restart constantly. Only disabling Fences stopped the cycle. I tried running Fences with admin privileges but that caused Fences to CONSTANTLY pop UAC prompts asking me to allow it to change my system. Even with Fences disabled, or when the resolution hasn'...![]()
