In October 2013, Stardock will be turning 20 (incorporation date). The first software product we made was…Galactic Civilizations. 

I began working on it in early 1992 while in college and it went into public beta at the start of 1993.  It was “published” by a guy going by “Advanced Idea Machines” who also designed, ahem, the box.

1. Icons placed inside fences cannot be renamed

Solution: In order to rename the icon has to be dragged from the Fence to the desktop, renamed and dragged back

This would be a nice fi.

Blurred background for Fences

 

Be able to apply blur effect so that desktop wallpaper is blurred where the Fence is located.

The blur effect is in Décor8 lets have it available for Fences.

Solution: I've taken one of my wallpapers and created a blurred section based on the position of 3 Fences locations. It looks great, until I hide the Fences and the Blurred area remain of course.

 

I would really like to see this option for Fences giving us the abil...

I want to access Android's file system on a USB stick using a Windows 7 PC.  So I loaded Ext2 Volume Manager in Windows 7.

It runs fine, but it still looks the same in Windows Explorer.  Under Ext2's Help/About it says Ext2Fsd: NOT Started!

Can someone tell me how to start it?

Even using the best practices, you can get hit with adware and toolbars (wait one while I duck out to Listerine my fingers).

The usual source? Deceptive installers and deceptive download portals. They’ll get you every time. They’ll switch home pages and search engines. They really come pretty close to malware, imo.

Anyway, you might get asked to help someone with multiple toolbars and adware crap on his box.

There are good programs for that: Adware Cleaner, PC Decrapi...

I purchased WindowBlinds in hope to find a theme that looks just like windows 7 as if side by side, its not easy to tell the difference. The Diamond theme didn't really accomplish that for me. I tried looking all around wincustomize for the theme but couldnt find any. Does anyone know a theme that looks exactly like windows 7?

When I add a shortcut to the dock that runs a batch file, the running indicator is not shown below my shortcut.

 

Is there some arguments I need for this?

Third year in a row, and that's a first for anyone.

And between Oz and Canada we have 7 of the top ten....

There's something to be said for living in the 'best' place and just visiting cities like NY and London...

I thought it would be fun to have a quick mini-contest as we think about a bigger competition for the end of the year.  I chose Start8 as it’s easy to make start buttons for and can include a broader reach of people.  This is also a great to get some exposure as Start8 has been downloaded millions of times and is in the top lists of sites like download.com.

This question is probably too deep and a gaming forum is likely not the right place to find the answers, but I'm going to post this seemingly naive question anyway. Adhering to this forum's rules, please refrain from posting inflammatory content (I hope the colorful rhetoric I used myself isn't too extreme, otherwise let me know and I'll edit it out).

 

Maybe it's because I don't know enough about Russian/Chinese culture. Maybe there's just a gap in the mod...

i bought Fences 2 today and after installing problems with Admin-Rights now i get the Message:

Stardock Account Registration: MAXIMUM ACTIVATIONS REACHED.

I installed it only once on my Desktop-PC..


Please RESET my Account Limit .. thx

I"ve been using Deskscapes pretty much since it came out with no problems. But over the last month or two it gives me an error message saying DWM isn't running, but when I check my processes in task manager, it shows DWM.exe running. Any ideas?

It’s been 5 years since GIMP’s last overhaul so this one’s been overdue. It now has a single window editing mode, although the multi window mode is the default. It can be changed in the “Windows” menu, and the preference will be remembered.

When Fences is installed on Windows 7, the Desktop (Explorer) crashes several times.  Eventually Fences turns itself off. 

I've updated to the most recent nVidia drivers for the 8800 GTS but with no success.

The event log shows the following crash information:

This thread will be dealing with the vertical and horizontal taskbar and all of it's components. I've had to do several redesigns to make the texture work and to accommodate the buttons. As far as the taskbars and buttons go, this should be the last (fingers crossed) redesign.

Hi guys, 

I have installed WindowBlinds 7 on my laptop running Windows 7. My problem is that when I start my laptop, WindowBlinds disables Aero although it applies the skin I had chosen earlier. Therefore I have to reapply the skin which enables the Aero automatically. Well, I don't have any problem in reapplying the skin but disabling the Aero leads to another issue.
