Anyone have any luck getting deakscapes to run under windows 8?

I am just wondering if it is possible, amd if it is what am I doing wrong?

I have tried running it all in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to want to work very well, or at all,

 

I have a suggestion for star dock, if possible, it'd be f'n awesome if you extended this app to work with windows 8 and have the optionut in to be able to lock it as all background, including the start menue (metro deskscapes, YEA BABY), well, the new metro start menue,

It would look so sli...

I cant get window blinds to skin the start menu I am running windows 7 64 bit is this normal?

i downloaded the new beta for desktop x - all seemed fine until I tried to register it and use it and it just appears to be working indefinitely and will not register - any ideas?

Just wanted to drop a post here to say that I am working with the Comodo mods/devs to hopefully get it fully working along side Windowblinds.

Our fave pirate lady, Mrs. Starkers has been in the hospital due to a rather awful eye infection which spread to her face.

So, she was in hospital for 24 hours (or a tad longer...time is bizarre in upside down Oz) on I.V. antibiotics, and now is home with the Cap'n.

 

I hope you'll join me in wishing her a rapid recovery... Get well quickly, bonzette!

I have the media center plugin installed and powerdvd 12 ultra installed but I still cannot use mpeg-2 files for dreams. What do I need to do to get this working? I thought both of these packages would have the codec needed...

Here is how it works.  I am going to give 5 letters.  It can be a word or just random letters.  You have to make a sentence from the letters I gave you and then you give 5 letters to the next person.

Example:    mbdgw

                 My big dog gained weight

You probably don’t need it most days (but, you’ll never know which days). In fact, you might or might not encounter a “drive by” for days or weeks. But, AV-Comparatives (AVC) did an interesting test on AVs (Antivirals). They tested when the AV actually loads. That’s not to say they’re actually protecting you during boot, but AVC didn’t actually test that.

Another caveat: They tested on new machines. That’s not exactly real world testin...

Fences 2.1 installed and running under Win7 Ultimate 32-bit. Also - in case it's relevant - using UltraMon. The problem I'm having is that on bootup no icons or Fences are visible on the desktop - although widgets and taskbar are displaying fine. All I need to do to make them show up is right-click on the desktop to display a menu. 'Configure Fences' isn't visible when I do - but a second or two later, the Fences and icons appear.

This ring any bells for anyone?

I'd like to get an idea how many drives/partitions the average user has. It will help me to determine the best number of drives to leave space for when I use the self expanding drive meters I use in my DX themes.

I have 5 drives/partitions, more when using a flash drive or SD card. So I like space for 7 or 8.

 

But if the end user only has one or two, there'll be a lot of wasted space left over.....looks funny.

 

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you guys wou...

Im having a problem downloading sins of a solar empire, I havent played it in a few years, but decided to redownload it, after finally remembering my login info. i try to install it, but it doesnt go past being queued, i get an error message, Installation failed (12) any help would be much appreciated

I have a fence setup that has 10 icons in it.  It was showing all the icons in a single column, a 1x10 layout.  Now it has them in a 2x5 layout.  What has possibly caused this and how do I fix it.  It looks like it may have changed in the past week.
